2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Shorty at Yard House - Cincinnati. Pours a semi-cloudy orange-gold with a small off-white head. Light lace and film in the glass after it settles. Notes of brown and cane sugars, straw, caramel, leaves, butterscotch, earth, and mild spice. Medium-bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a sticky, too sweet mouthfeel. The 9% ABV is not particularly masked here, either. Uneven, and not really my thing.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pleasant for the style and you can tell the restaurant takes care in who brews their beer. Average to mild aroma and color with nothing above exceptional. Palate was medium weight but the flavor was a nice blend of caramel malt with a hint of bitterness and Belgian spice.
