Draft at Good Dog. Very hazy amber with a slim off-white head that left a few spots of lace then disappeared. Tastes as described - a bourbon barrel aged version on the Thomas Jefferson Ale. Lots of caramel flavor. Burnt tangerine peels. Dried apricots. Blonde leather. Orange varnish. Nice that the Bourbon brings a fuller nose and deepens the existing flavors without needing to bring an overpowering alcohol feel to the mix.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of vanilla cake, pepper. Good lookin amber, beige head, lacing. I taste lager hops, vanilla, pepper, spice. Just a bit of alcohol in the back. I wonder if they were brewing 8% back in TJ’s day? Nice lacing. Well done. I guess the founding fathers drank well.
