Mild sweet and fruity aroma, pours a clear reddish-brown with a thin off-white head. Mild flavor, with a hint of bready malts. There’s not a lot going on here, decent mouthfeel, and almost no finish. An easy drinking and unremarkable beer.

Draft at Bella Notte in Pittsburgh. Kind of weak despite the dark rich appearance. Disappointing overall.

Clear dark brown with a two-finger off-white head and modest lace. Aromas of caramel, earth, and nuts. Mild caramel sweetness offset with gentle earthy hops. Medium body, high carbonation, prickly mouthfeel and a dry finish.

I poured it from the bottle into a pint glass. It pours a clear copper color with an off-white head and lacing. The aroma is toast and malt. The taste is toast, malt, and coffee bitterness. The mouth feel is dry and carbonated. This is a pretty good session beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ruby brown with tan head. Musty malty English ale aroma. Malty up front and creamy. Hint of bitter from the hopping. The musty aroma takes away from this otherwise tasty mild: in that way it is very English. Next time I'll drink it right from the bottle.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle - Malt forward beer but not a very sweet one. Little hop balance. A rather ho hum, middle of the road ale. With the mild flavor it is something you can drink all day and with the 4.2% alcohol, not get wasted to easily.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at the Philly airport on the way back from random NJ trip, killing time between flights. Hadn’t had a Yards brew in years, and got this one because it was the one I knew I hadn’t tried before. With a name like Brawler, I expected something huge. Instead I got a perfectly sessionable Brit beer. Poured a clear dark amber with some reddish tones, nice head. Aroma of caramel malts. Flavor was caramel malts and some toasty notes. Just enough hops to balance out sweetness, but no flavor from them. Nothing bad here, just not much going on. At the time I thought of it as a bitter without the bitterness, and I guess this is pretty much what it was.
