Originally brewed to withstand the epic voyages from the shores of England around the African Cape of Good Hope to the Indian Subcontient, the India Pale Ale has always been a beer for the adventurous soul. Thoroughly hopped with Amarillos in both the whirlpool and the fermenter, it was then transferred to our makeshift shipping cask, where it was dry-hopped again with Nugget and Columbus. Set adrift in our brewery without cooling, it was able to age as though it had been put to sea for six months. The result is an authentic double dry hopped and uniquely aged India Pale Ale reminiscent of something you’d find solace in on a balmy, Indian evening far away from home. Beware of tigers

12oz bottle from a tasting, Pours a copper color with a creamy thick tan head, aroma of malts and hops. Good lacing on glass. The taste is herbal hops, some fruits, nuts and caramel malts. Medium bodied. Excellent ipa.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark gold body with a nice frothy white head that left a bit of lacing. The nose is lightly hoppy with some citrus and floral notes. Fairly heavy caramel malt base with some light yeastiness. The flavor is fairly light on the bitterness with a sweet and toasty caramel malt base. Not the most complex of IPA’s, for my tastes the sweetness is just a little too heavy. Medium bodied with a clingy malt stickiness and soft fizzy carbonation. Not a big fan of this one.

12oz bottle. Pours a cloudy orange color with a two finger fluffy white head. Smell of caramel, floral hops, and some grapefruit. Taste is big bready malt base with caramel, sweet red grapefruit, hints of alcohol, and a nicely balancing strong bitterness. Medium bodied, lightly crisp to start, smooth and a bit dry at the finish, prickly moderate carbonation.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is a decent pine hop resin. Flavor is much of the same. A decent hoppy resin with little or no malt backbone. Finish has a fleeting hop and maybe a little too much water. Maybe a bit thin but it will satisfy a hop crave.

Faint citrus smell not really heavy notes of any one thing which makes it interesting.pours orange to hazey straw color, minimal head. No big hop taste as another reviewer has noted but hides the alcohol.. mouthfeel has a fresh feeling. How yards accomplished such a smooth finish I’m not sure. A+

Bottle. Nose beautifully citric, heaviest grapefruit, juice and rind in balance, a little oil, and super inviting! Lightly hazy yellow-golden with a dense and creamy off-white head. Strong bitterness with medium hop sweetness, fullish body is also dense and creamy, all of that lovely grapefruit and lemon and adding on with some tropical edges: pineapple, passionfruit, mango. Light supportive caramel and a touch of fizzy crystal. Pine and smooth resin. Well-hidden etoh. Clean and awesome.

8/30/13 $3.29 @ CBO 2nd beer after goose island Oktoberfest Poured a copper orange minimum head. Smell was nice hoppy, citrusy, pine. On the sweet side. Not a big hop bomb nor the alcohol of a double ipa. Still a pretty good ipa ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
