COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Originally brewed to withstand the epic voyages from the shores of England around the African Cape of Good Hope to the Indian Subcontient, the India Pale Ale has always been a beer for the adventurous soul. Thoroughly hopped with Amarillos in both the whirlpool and the fermenter, it was then transferred to our makeshift shipping cask, where it was dry-hopped again with Nugget and Columbus. Set adrift in our brewery without cooling, it was able to age as though it had been put to sea for six months. The result is an authentic double dry hopped and uniquely aged India Pale Ale reminiscent of something you’d find solace in on a balmy, Indian evening far away from home. Beware of tigers

12oz bottle from Boulevard Super Liquors. Pours a reddish amber color with an off white head and some lacing. Aroma is hoppy, pine, a touch of grapefruit citrus. Medium on the palate with soft carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, bread, toffee, a little bitter, pine hops, with a sweet, malty finish. A nice IPA.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2012 Sample at Pour House from Erica, pours a clearish copper brown with barely any head or lacing. It was on a hand pump which usually means the beer is going to suck ass. Aromas of disgusting stale booze, light hops, weird basement sewage, taste is almost worse then aroma, rye, stale malts, stale hops, light rust, caramel. I love amarillo hops but these must have been the most brown schwagged out nugs they could find. Please don’t age ipas any more, bottle them, then send them on there way. Brutal. Re-rate, much better then the first time I tried it, lots of sweet malt caramel and bitter hops. Good finish, moved it up a full point and a half.

Poured a slightly reddish amber color with a thin off-white head. Nice hoppy aroma with apricots, pine, and some flowers. Some sugar as well in the aroma with caramel malts. Taste is nice and crisp with lots of floral notes. Some good caramel with a touch of candy and apricots. Good hoppy notes. Finish is a bit smooth, not as bitter as expected. Maybe a little bit too sweet. Overall nice.

Poured from bottle. A mix of pine and floral hop aromas. Translucent amber, tan head. Floral / pine hops in flavor, a bit of malt as well. Very good, solid IPA.

Bottle poured a cloudy gold with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of bread, lemon zest, light grapefruit and a hint of earthiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of bread. lemon zest and light earthiness with a crisp dry lingering citrus finish.

Draft at Prohibition Taproom. Pours deep amber, slightly cloudy, with off white head and mild lacing. Notes of light piney hops, caramel and roasted malts. I recall this being much better last year. Not bad, but I believe the 2012 batch to be much more malt forward.

On tap at Capone’s. Cloudy amber color with a small sized head. Aromas of citrus, floral, and pine. Tastes of citrus, some fruitiness, caramel, and rinds. Alcohol content well hidden.

Bottle pours cloudy brownish orange with foamy off-white head. Pine, resin, floral, light fruits, tangerine, caramel. Kind of odd flavor that hits different notes throughout the taste. Moderately bitter and sweet. Didn’t realize the alcohol content was this high. An interesting brew for an occasional change, but not one I would regularly drink.

Nice looking beer, with nice copper color and lots of beige head and lacing. A nice looking beer. Aroma of lemon, pine, and malt. Tastes of banana esters, followed by a hop citrus bitterness. This one seems to have off flavors especially for an IPA. It’s ok at best. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
