Originally brewed to withstand the epic voyages from the shores of England around the African Cape of Good Hope to the Indian Subcontient, the India Pale Ale has always been a beer for the adventurous soul. Thoroughly hopped with Amarillos in both the whirlpool and the fermenter, it was then transferred to our makeshift shipping cask, where it was dry-hopped again with Nugget and Columbus. Set adrift in our brewery without cooling, it was able to age as though it had been put to sea for six months. The result is an authentic double dry hopped and uniquely aged India Pale Ale reminiscent of something you’d find solace in on a balmy, Indian evening far away from home. Beware of tigers

12oz bottle: Pours a clear deep bronze with a stringy-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet toasty malty nose with lots of grapefruity hops and floral notes. Body starts with good fullness and sweet light caramel malt with lots of fresh resiny southern hemisphere hops and bitter balance before a drier clean bittersweet finish. Well-balanced, flavorful and true to style.

This is an above average IPA. the aroma is near perfect The head of this beer is white and fluffy, it also lasts for a while as well. The floral hopes stand out the most to me during the mouthful and during the finish. Out of the bottle it had low amounts of CO2. The color is orange to a rust color. A good beer and would recommend giving it a try.

The commercial description made this beer out to be something really special, and it just wasn’t. I found it quite unremarkable. It’s a stronger-than-average IPA, but I find the strength comes mainly in the heaviness of the malt and the high alcohol content than in the hops or complexity. The hops have a slightly metallic character, leaving a metallic aftertaste. The aroma of this beer oddly suggests shredded dried coconut, uncannily so. Malt is very, very heavy. Ugh. I just didn’t like this one at all and I am very disappointed, I’d take any of Yards typical everyday beers over this one. I’d even drink a typical macro-brew over this one. About the only thing I liked was the pleasant hazy appearance...something is very attractive about how it looks. It just doesn’t taste good to me.

$2.30 Bottle, Wine Warehouse, CHO. Slightly hazy golden-amber with a large white head. Smells of wet dog and citrus. Taste of orange peel, caramel, copper, and light coffee.

Bottle from Shawan Liquors. Pours slightly orange with half an inch of foam. Big citrus on the nose. Lots of grapefruit on the tongue. Pretty big bitterness as well but nothing that lingers too, too long. Very nice!

Great citrus aroma and light amber coloring. Flavors of pine and grapefruit, but maybe missing a little malty balance for my liking. Very solid beer all in all.

Slight hazy gold with dense white head. Nice orange floral hop aroma. Full body and not overly hoppy due to imperial. Another nice brew from Tom and team.

On tap @ Fire Works, Arlington, VA. Pours slightly hazy light amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of citrus and hops with a subtle fruity note. Bitter, hoppy flavour with sweetish fruity and malty notes. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. Bitter finish. A nice thingy.
