COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Cape of Good Hope, which changes year to year, pays homage to the original style and adventurous spirit of the first British IPAs. This past year’s release, a west coast style double IPA, is brewed with 100% pilsner malt, imparting a subtle maltiness and beautiful golden color. Loaded with hops, there’s Columbus in the kettle and Centennial in the whirlpool. Then it’s dry hopped with El Dorado, Calypso, and Galaxy, resulting in a dry, crisp ale with unmistakable flavors and aromas of tropical fruits. Doesn’t match the hop listings I’ve seen elsewhere, right?

12oz bottle: Pours a clear deep bronze with a stringy-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet toasty malty nose with lots of grapefruity hops and floral notes. Body starts with good fullness and sweet light caramel malt with lots of fresh resiny southern hemisphere hops and bitter balance before a drier clean bittersweet finish. Well-balanced, flavorful and true to style.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Nose is a blend of nice citrusy hops and then something more greasy and dank. Rich and malty, very spicy and dank if not extremely bitter. Pointing a little in many directions, but sort of ok. 240516

Pours a copper-gold color with a light off-white head. Piney kind of aroma. Hoppy bitterness, medium bodied, hits the palate a bit hard.

Pours a golden orange with a thick white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, toffee and caramel. Taste follows, a bit on the malty side but a solid dipa nonetheless

This is a pale IIPA, with a bright yet indistinct hop nose. And similar palate, emphasis on hop, good balance. For the hop, prob a little too strong.

Bottle from Perfect Pour. Bold golden body with medium, lasting head. Nose is hoppy, punchy and spicy. Taste is hops up front with nice minty flavour and tropical fruits for sure. Creamy texture. Warming finish. Pretty good.

Pours a clean, clear darker golden with a pillowy white head which lingers.....aroma is pilsen malt up front and dominating, slight pine, nectarine......taste is full, thick mouthfeel, pilsen dominates again, odd bit of fruit on the back end. Different.

Big aromas of fresh hops and minor dry citrus. White lasting head and light golden body. Crisp hops and light citrus with some light roasty malts. Crisp and dry on the palate.

Herbal aromas, citrusy, orangey, piney. Clear orange-amber with a fairly lasting white head. Mostly dry, pretty bitter, a little sweet, boozy. Medium-full bodied, kind of savory, pretty strong.
