Draft to pint (thanks Kerry). Looks good; a slightly translucent dull blackish cola with foamy beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of dark malt, milk chocolate, and a touch of roast alongside a bit of well-balanced sweetness. Tastes like it smells, but more dark chocolate than milk chocolate. Some cocoa and a bit of caramel on the tongue as well. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and smooth with some mild, pleasant bitterness on the finish. Enjoyable, and a nice step up from the base.

Black pour beige head with light lacing .... Aroma of cocoa/dark chocolate with some sweetness (lactose sugar?) and caramel/roasted malts... Taste is of roasted malts, caramel, dark chocolate/bakers cocoa. Some sweetness gotta be lactose sugar and lightly bitter .... Finish is dry and chalky with some lingering sweetness .... Decent body

At beachhouse in Bethany. Pours a cola brown with almost no head. Chocolate on the nose. Taste is some chocolate and vanilla upfront, but it lacks any kind of hops in the finish - very thin. I like my stouts with a little more muscle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

poured from a 750ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with a quickly dissipating head. The aroma of sweet vanilla dominates, there is a light chocolate and fruitiness that is noticeable. The flavors are chocolate, vanilla, with a high level of perceived sweetness. The stout base beer is a little weak in aroma and flavor for what I like in a chocolate/vanilla stout. Thin.

Bottle. Pours a deep black with an off-white head that fades to lacing. Big chocolate aroma, with toasted malt, coffee, vanilla, caramel, wood. Taste is bitter, of dark chocolate, black coffee, toasted malt, wood, vanilla. Lingering dark chocolate and coffee that ends a little watery. Nice!

Poured from large bottle into tulip. Big tan head slow to dissipate. Aroma of cocoa nibs and unsweetened chocolate. Taste is only slightly sweet malts with soft notes of Belgium chocolate and just a hint of vanilla. Silky smooth finish. Easy drinker. Overall easy drinking enjoyable beer. Not overwhelming with chocolate as with some beers of this style. Would buy again, especially if offered in a 6 pack for say $12 over a pint and a half bottle for $10.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2015 It is truly a dark chocolate beer. Not syrupy. True dark chocolate. Aroma immediate. Lingers in the mouth and coats the tongue. Deep flavor. Lucky the abv is lower cuz it could kill you! Exactly what it claims. Tap

Strong aroma of chocolate on the nose. On the first taste, chocolate right up front with some malts on the back end. Finishes nicely on palate.
