Commercial Description:
Our flagship is keg-conditioned ale with a sack full of British East Kent Goldings hops in each keg. This ale was created to offer true cask conditioned ale flavor without the hassle of extensive cellaring. True British cask conditioned flavor is a complex, lively balance between malt, hops, and fruity esters.

Bottle: pours with a huge frothy head. Smells citrusy at first sniff with malty notes that follow. Wonderful rich amber color. Flavor is a deceptively complex cocktail of rich malts, dried currants and raisons, toffee & caramel notes and mild hops. Long, slightly bitter finish to balance the malts. A fine example of the style.

Bottle: pours a golden amber with a frothy white head, aroma of bittering hops, taste is malty, mildly bitter, with a very soft bitter finish. Would like to try this one on cask.

(11/19/08) Cask at McMenamin’s in Philadelphia. Dark hazy brown with medium, quite stable, beige head - looks quite lovely in the mug. Aroma of malt, some bread, biscuiy and caramel notes, some slightly earthy hoppiness and flowery notes. Sweet malty flavor at first with some caramelly hints, continues with delicate hop bitterness with some citric notes and light fruitiness. Silky mouthfeel. Perfectly balanced. One of the best and most quaffable session beers I’ve ever had. I could drink a lot of this.

Hmm... what can I say about this beer... Pours amber in color with an average head. Pretty average all around. Nothing more than a balanced malt/hoppy aroma and a taste to match. Pretty easy to drink, but "extra special".... I think not.

On tap at Tria. Pours amber with a thick tan head. Aroma of light sweet malt and raisins. Flavor is pretty much dominated by raisins. Weak palate and I’m not a fan of the flavor either. 6/4/5/3/13 (3.1/5)

Bottle to glass. Nice head & lacing. Good aroma. Little watery on the mouthfeel, but tasty.

Bottle listed at 5.5%. Hazy copper colored liquid. Moderate taupe colored head with some lacing. Very herbaceous in scent. Rosemary, licorice, and mace mingle with some light fruit. Interesting scents that I’m not really smitten with, yet deserve respect. Heavy earthy licorice (not a favorite of mine) in the flavors. Some caramel and other herbs peek in and out throughout the quaff. Dry lightly woody finish and linger.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy dark amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted until mid-glass and left patchy lace all the way to the finish. Mild but pleasant aroma of malt and just a bit of molasses. The flavor is nice and malty with a touch of sweetness, and finishes with some mild bitterness. Medium bodied. A solid and enjoyable beer.
