lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA Jan 18, 2007 At the Independence "Brewpub" at Philly Airport.
Pours a rich copper with a two finger ivory head. Head disappears to a wisp soon enough. No lacing to speak of. Huge citrus in the nose. Lots of orange rind, grapefruit and apricot.
Bitter, baby. Brutally bitter for a standard IPA. Big herbal bitterness. The cirtrus is barely detectable on the tongue. I really look for the malt to round this beer out, give it some more body but it is underwhelming next to the hops. Mouth is almost thin feeling due to the lack of balance. A bit harsh for my tastes but a decent enough IPA, Good for washing a turkey sandwich dow.
beerbill (1314), Laurel, New York, USA Aug 16, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy amber gold with a large off-white head that lasted through the first third of the glass and left no lace. Very mild aroma of malt and some light floral and pine hops. The flavor is malt up front with some mild pine hops at the finish. While I liked the flavor, I think the hops are very timid for an America IPA. The alcohol is well hidden. Medium bodied. Fruitfly (55), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 5, 2008 Bottle. A nice orange/copper color. Aroma is predominantly pinely and sharp citric hops with a caramely malt follow-up. No head and medium body. Bitter with lightly astringent finish. Nothing I’d race to try again. Damico (50), Norristown, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 5, 2008 This IPA had the hops to prove its worth. It was not overpowering but had a nice flavor with 8% alcohol to it. mabel (1662), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 4, 2008 [1276-20080410] 355mL bottle. Sweet citrus juice lemon and tangerine aroma. Hazy, light orange brown body with a big creamy white head, some lacing, and some floaties. Hoppy grapefruit juice has the flavour without the bite. Medium bitter body. Nice mild bitter, well-balanced.

Overheard: "Your’s smells like petted wet cow." machfive55 (65), Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 8, 2008 Purchased on draught at the ballpark. The beer was a light amber, with a decent head on it and good carbonation. Just an awesome hop aroma from this beer, with some really rich citrusy hop notes. Flavor is just all hops, without extreme bitterness, and very little malt character to this beer. I really enjoyed this the whole way to the last drop. Great job, Yards.
