ROGUE (621), Newark, Delaware, USA Oct 27, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy dark orange with a fluffy off white head leaves a lot of lace. Aroma was fruity hops and bready malt. Has a fruity flavor, but with a nice bitter finish. Mouthfeel is flat and fairly dry. RHeastings (380), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 20, 2009 Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle in a pub glass. The sample pours a medium amber color with a moderately sized thick white head that lasts almost the beer’s entire consumption. The nose carries some nicely aromas of west coast hops. Not quite to the extent or intensity of some of the more intense DIPAs, but still nicely done in terms of what seemed like a Cascade/Centennial/Amarillo interplay. The palate was interestingly somewhat devoid of malt character. There was a detectable level of medium to high-crystal sweetness, but the approach and finish were dominated by hop bitterness and character. Overall, a very nicely done American IPA that belies its strength. kdrobb2k (23), Willingboro, New Jersey, USA Oct 12, 2009 12 Oz. Bottle. Citrus hop nose aroma. Pours cloudy copper with at medium tan head. Smooth clear clean flavor with piny citrus notes. Leaves a nice lasting semi bitter on the palate. Overall a very good tasting IPA. This will be on the repeat list. patrickfannon (271), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 10, 2009 Bottle. 12 oz. Pours clear orange with a medium, white head. Aroma of hops, honey, spice, wheat, and sweet fruits. Medium body with a clean finish. Average local IPA. jmm635 (249), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 21, 2009 Pours a very light amber color, almost peachy, with a thick white head. Citrus and hoppy aroma, not much else. Those flavors carryover to the taste and are joined by a really nice caramel malty sweetness. Palate was pretty neutral, bit of a bitter finish. Alcohol was very well hidden. joeyplush (328), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 29, 2009 Compliments of my bro in law Tom. This is an excellent IPA - aroma is fantastic, with a ton of citrus hops and some spicy malt. Appearance is orange red and hazy, with a consistent off white head and sudsy lacing. Flavor is Hoppy, but very nicely balanced and finishes on the sweet side. Palate is grainy, not especially crisp. This is an excellent beer overally - I wish it was more widely available.
coyotehunter (542), , Michigan, USA Aug 22, 2009 Bottle thanks to MrBunn. Smells os hay, hops and malttaste is not bad of some fruit, bubble gum, pine and maybe a touch of grapefruit. Finish is a litle on the sweet side, but its pretty good Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Aug 8, 2009 12 oz bottle as an extra in a trade. Poured a golden/amber with a big, fluffy white head. Aroma is of grass and citric hops with a solid malt backdrop. Flavor is much more malt-centric than I prefer in my IPAs, with a bit of citrus, soap and grass popping through. A bit of a disappointment.
