COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Only the strong survive.

IPAs were originally brewed to survive the epic sea voyages from England to India. Ours is no different. Hailing from a firm malt background and loaded through and through with hops, this beer will surely survive the journey from your fridge to your couch.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2006 Very large dull white head of fine bubbles. Frothy on top. Great carbonation. Murky copper brown in color. Juicy hops aroma with a little bit of grapefruit and flowers. Malty sweet flavor with some oily resin. Pretty much malts with a much less prominent presence from the hops. Finish is creamy and coating but not very hoppy or bitter. What bitterness is there is not the crisp pungent kind but the sour, oily kind. There are many better IPA’s out there.

Bonus beer from beer_hawk. Pours amber with a white head. Smells of pine, citrus, freshly cut grass and perfumey wildflowers. Tastes of grapefruit and some pine resin with a mellow sweet malty tinge. Finishes bitter with some nice citrussy notes.

Bottle. Poured a clear amber color with off-white head that mostly diminished and left light lacing. Aroma of citrus and pine. The flavor found citrus, grassy hops, and light pine. Some light malts come out in the aroma but more in the flavor as it warms. Medium body that had a sharp bitterness that sticks around in the aftertaste.

12z bottle. Golden amber hue. Spotty lacing in the white head. Apples and citrus in the nose, along with a tea and hop note. Sweet cola palate. Dry bitter hops. Light malt roast. Minimal bittersweet chocolate flavor. Alcohol is strong, but short lived. Nice caramel note on the frony half, that turns into the alcohol sting, then the resinous hop finish.

Gold, with head of white. Thats it says in my notes. Must’ve been having a Yoda moment. Nice floral, hoppy aroma, with a hint of citrus. Clean, crisp hops dominate the taste, but nots of orange pop up, too. Dryish, earthy finish. As it warms, notes of honey assert them selves. Thanks to Beer Hawk for the trade!

12 oz bottle Pours a cloudy amber with small particles in it. Has a white head. Smells of grapefruit and purfume. Has a bitter taste with a good strong aftertaste. Very good IPA, I like it very much.

Poured an effervescent amber with a fizzy off-white head. Aroma of citrus and grassy hops with some alcohol and acidity. Taste is very dry with lots of pine and grassy hop flavor and lots of toffee flavor. Very little malt sweetness to back any of it up. Long dry finish. Seems fairly average for the style... good flavor, not enough drinkability or balance.

Honestly I thought of this as only an average IPA. The 8% is definitly hidden quite well. The hops don’t really hit my taste buds until couple seconds after I swallow. Kinda catches the back of your tounge. So maybe this would be a good IPA to let a first time IPAer try.
