Commercial Description:
An English sweet stout made with pale and dark English malts, English noble hops and 150 whole oysters -- shell and all. The oysters are thrown into the brew kettle during the boil stage of the brewing process, adding calcium to the wort. The result is a passionately smooth stout.

Bottle. Pours a very dark ruby with a 1/2 inch head that laces very well. Soft, fluffy, long lasting head that laces a lot. Nose is baker’s chocolate and malt. Taste is roasted and bitter with strong bitter aftertaste that isn’t from hops but rather a coffee flavor. Not much sweetness to balance this bitterness and therefore is not a great beer. The body and mouthfeel of this one is not as creamy as it looked like it would be from the pour. Body is medium at best. This might be considered a dry stout.... Simply an OK beer, not super.

(USA) Pours a nice black color with sm-tan head. The aroma is smoky, malty, with a hint of chocolate. The taste kinda has a burnt flavor with some malty notes !! The mouthfeel is watery, but still drinkable. Overall, i feel this brew is average, not much else to say.

THOUGHTS: Finally had it & it was better than I would have imagined. I thought it would be like Guinness but it was more like a baltic porter. TECHNICAL: On tap at Grey Lodge. Poured dark brown with a small head. The aroma was nice but weak. Caramel malt and prunes. The initial flavor was sweet, while the finish was sour. There was sour fruit, prunes, coffee and a little chocolate. The medium to full body was syrupy with light fizziness and an astringent finish.

Courtesy SoLan. Almost black pour, sparse thin light white head. Light roast, some chocolate, a little briny in the background. Not much going on for the taste except a hint of light sweet roast. A little bland.

Pours a brown color, only the slightest hint of black. The aroma is virtually non-existient. Slight hint of chocolate milk, no roast detectable at all. Flavor is equally as subdued, bordering on benign. Disappointing.
