Moderate hops in the aroma. Taste was a little off from a Pale Ale. Could have been a bad keg. But overall, not very impressed. rajendra82 (700), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 27, 2005 Received from BA pezoids as part of BIF 20, this 12 oz. brown bottle lacked any freshness dating. The body looked pale yellow and slightly hazy, and the head was thin, but lasting a good bit as a result of good carbonation. The aroma was floral, citric, and much stronger than anticipated. The taste was hoppy, and grapefruit rind like, but lacked much malt sweetness. The aftertaste was dry with a touch of hay. The beer felt much bitterer than it was, due to the lack of a substantial malt presence. The aftertaste contained a lingering sharp bitterness. If this is how hoppy their APA is, I’d love to see what they have done to the IPA. Felt a lot more West Coast influenced than most others from Pennsylvania. It has a great aroma and smooth taste and a near perfect feel of grianiness. Dorwart (1812), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 20, 2005 Large white head of small bubbles. Great carbonation and excellent head retention. Excellent citrus hoppy aroma with plenty of mandarin oranges, lemons and pears. Could sit here and smell it all day. Color is a medium golden orange. Sour bitterness up front and some rice crispies later on. Little grainy and thin. Crisp finish with a litle dryness that is short lived. An ok pale ale that starts off great and finishes poorly. rudolf (1758), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 13, 2005 I don’t know why this is so lowly rated. Its not the best beer in the world, but it should be around a 3 at least. Nice amount of carbonation and a nice floral hoppiness. Light on hops and color, a little too light, even for a pale ale. Otherwise, an easy to drink beer that went well my pork in white wine dinner. hopscotch (5474), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 2, 2005 Bottle... Crystal clear golden ale with a large, frothy, white head. Great retention. Wispy, cumulus lacework. Yeasty, floral aroma with notes of biscuit and butterscotch. Perfectly balanced flavor, but almost entirely nondescript except for an earthy, herbal taste. Medium-bodied and a little oily with lively carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. Not offensive, but not at all special either.
