Bottle. Nice pour with decent lasting head and hoppy aroma a bit like their India Pale Ale. This one is not as complex or enjoyable as that beer, but it is very solid with nice malty flavor and a citrus aroma. A bit more like an English pale, which I am not as fond of. Don’t get me wrong, but IPA’s are the bomb. This one has nice palate, nice nose, and nice flavor. Solid once again from the folks on the dirty side of the state. Good work Yards!

bottle-frothy head almost over cartbonated. head was about sevreal inces when first poured into glass. hoppy aroma with sweet fruit notes. mild hoppy flavor not mcuh else.

on tap in philadelphia. pretty bland for a yards beer. brown, not a lot of aroma, pretty simple citric bitterness, pretty uninspiring

10.31.04 12oz bottle. Medium amber with big foamy head. Lots of citric hoppiness in aromas don’t remind me at all of EPA. Flavor is grapefruity hop dominated with a grainy malt background.

Pretty nice beer. A little hoppy for me, but tasty. It’s worth a try. Drink at the old City Tavern in Philly...kind of adds to the mystique.

Gold. Very resiny, lots of pine in the hops. A bit too much on the hop side, malts don’t really balance it out properly. Overly fizzy, some carbonation problem.

This is their new American Pale Ale grain bill, so don’t let old ratings deter you from at least trying it once. Clear golden, fizzy white head. Nose has nice scents of light pine, grapefruit, lemon zest, with a slight caramel note. Hops dominate here with malt having a lesser roll in trying to balance. Light bodied, fizzy carbonation, hoppy dry finish. Tasty and very drinkable.

Poured with a large overflowing head, has a mild lemon-citrus flavor, good on a hot day but really is just average. Overly carbonated with a fizzy mouthfeel.
