Some nice cereal flavors in the middle--malt, wheat, oats, grainy middle and finish. Medium body. Not the greatest melding of flavors but passable. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 18, 2004 Poured a hazy golden yellow with a huge, huge white frothy head. Lots of particles. Citris hoppy and fruity armoa. Tastes of apples and lemons mixed with malts. Different tasting - a little weak but overall not too bad. TheBeerGod (3147), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 11, 2004 Hazed amber with a small white head. Aroma is steeped with citrusy hops. There’s also a subtle sweetness behind the hop aroma. The taste is a nicely balanced mix of citrus fruit, mostly orange peel and lemon, along with a decent malt backbone. Mouthfeel is moderately bitter and a bit oily. Finish is expectedly bitter with only a minor amount lingering. Good beer! smhanna (4), New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 1, 2004 Yards recently recreated this Pale Ale from scratch, and I’m happy to say that this is now a great beer, worthy of the other great Yards brews. If, like me, you tried this one before and didn’t care for it, try it now! It’s very flavorful, though pretty bitter, and, if nothing else, the aroma will knock your socks off... Makes no sense i know. For an ale i felt there was a real lack of that kick that an ale should have. Thumbs down guys. pobenohne (504), Northern Liberties, Pennsylvania, USA

I remember this beer being uninspired, but this time I was impressed. Word is that the brewers reformulated Philly Pale Ale. Very fresh - kind of a little brother to the Yards IPA egajdzis (3621), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
