patrickfannon (271), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 28, 2009 Bottle. Pours pale yellowish, with little to no head. Aroma is very mild, but pleasntly earthy. Body is a bit thin, but this makes the beer taste more refreshing. Finish is weak, but overall, a surprisingly great local brew. joeyplush (328), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 22, 2009 12 oz. bottle. This is a unique and very drinkable pale ale. Aroma of citrus (grapefruit) hops. Pale gold color, thinnish head and light lacing. Flavor is refreshing, nice citrus hoppiness and a crisp finish. Hints of sweet malt in the palate. Also tried one of these on tap at Citizen’s Bank Park earlier this week. cazort (413), Newark, Delaware, USA Aug 13, 2009 (Bottle) I am very impressed with this beer. It’s not a strong or powerful beer...it’s a little on the lighter side and while the hops have a bold presence, they’re only moderately strong. I really like the character of the hops...they are very cool and clean tasting and make for an extraordinarily refreshing brew. The malt is also rich but without being heavy, and blends well with the hops. Not a great deal of complexity, but certainly an enjoyable beer and among the better of the American Pale Ales I’ve tried. What really makes this beer is its balance, subtlety, and a complete lack of any of the objectionable qualities that plague many micro-brewed pale ales. dmac (1418), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Aug 9, 2009 12 oz of the biggest let down from Yards that I have ever experienced. Aroma was some weird earthy, mud, skunk cabbage, band aid, old pond mixture. Luckily the flavor wasn’t as offensive but just really weak with some grassy notes, slight citrus but just really waterd down overall. After several nice experiences with Yards its about time I found their dog. dagimp (108), Philly, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 9, 2009 From a bottle into a pint glass. 3 fingers of fluffy white head, not much lacing at all. Nose is very light, mild floral notes but nothing more. Taste is light with lemon, flowers and a slight pineyness. The floral hops really shine in this beer. Extremely sessionable. This isn’t a heavy, hop bomb or barleywine. It’s a light, smooth beer with lots of flavor that you can enjoy any time. Hits the mark. pineypower (1076), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Aug 9, 2009 Bottle thanks to Dmac. Pours out a clear light golden color with a small mostly white head with a lot of carbonation. Strange aroma, some sharp grassy/herbal hops, slight sweetness also. Moderate body with a slight floral/citrus hop note, some soft grains and a little touch of sweetness. Not bad, more of a craft gateway beer. BeerGestapo (725), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 13, 2009 Brewed in the USA...... On cask at the General !!! Pours a yellowish color with a slight orange tint and a foamy white head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit and malts. Taste is also of grapefruit, with the addition of caramel and hops. The mouthfeel was super smooth, well balanced and easy to drink. Pretty nice pale ale !!! afireinside96 (807), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2009 Cask serving. Clear gold with a small head. Juicy grapefruit zest and rich pine jump from the glass. This isn’t an IPA? Tasting notes of pine, dough, citrus, and caramel. Not much bitterness. Light carbonation pricks its way through the medium body. A good beer for those that enjoy hop flavor but not bitterness.
