Not to be boastful, but we honestly believe all other ales pale in comparison to ours. Dry hopped with an abundance of distinctive Simcoe hops, this straw colored pale ale is more drinkable than bitter, more aromatic than aggressive. Philly Pale, as itís better known, is crisp, hoppy, and bursting with citrus. Philadelphia Pale Ale was named one of the best Pale Ales in the country by the New York Times.

Mild bitterer, grasig hopfiger Antrunk. Hopfen und Bitterkeit halten sich dabei die Waage mit leichtem Hang zum Bitteren, spšter verstšrkt sich dieser Eindruck. Etwas grasig bleibt das Ganze, spritzig. 10/9/9/9//9

Draft. Light gold color. Only a faint hoppiness and a bit too sweet. Pretty bland overall.

on tap at Irish Pol, Philadelphia; clear amber color; floral hop aroma; a good, well balanced pale ale; floral, citrusy hop flavor on a light bodied, bready malt base

Bottle drank on the mountain during CPSís stag do. Pretty basic stuff with some dry pale malts, light bitter pine needles, grass, cereal and grains. Light in body with average carbonation. Lightly bitter on the finish with some further grass. Simple, decent APA.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a clear golden color. Thereís a little over two fingers worth of white-colored head. The head itself is pretty rocky and retains well. Some soapy streaks of lacing are left behind. S: The hops here are more evocative of British varietals than íMurican ones. I get light orange peel, tea leaves, earth, flowers, and apricot from the nose, primarily. The fruity characteristic comes more strongly when allowed to open up some. I really like that there isnít much malt to get in the way - itís there, donít get me wrong, just muted. While this isnít the kind of hoppiness to wow me, it definitely has an intriguing smell to it. T: The first swallow is surprisingly bitter in a good way. Tea leaves, orange peel, and flowers hit the palate immediately, right before a slight upsurge of sweet malts finish it off. Thereís nothing explosive or over-the-top here: this is just a really solid session beer. M: Holy crap, this is creamy for the style. It still retains the crisp dryness I love in a good example of the style, but the creaminess does make it touch too full in body. Doesnít really matter - this goes down like water. Carbonation pricks the tongue slightly. O: Yards brewed a really good golden ale here. Maybe itís a bit bland, but thatís forgivable. This is a beer thatís meant to be consumed by the 6-pack, and Iíd much rather down a 6-pack of this than, say, Coors Light (Iíd also rather catch herpes than have to down a 6-pack of Coors Light, but thatís neither here nor there...)

Bottle. Tastes like doughy malt, dry pine hops, grapefruit, light fruity candy sweetness. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like musky pone, grapefruit, and light sweetness.
