COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not to be boastful, but we honestly believe all other ales pale in comparison to ours. Dry hopped with an abundance of distinctive Simcoe hops, this straw colored pale ale is more drinkable than bitter, more aromatic than aggressive. Philly Pale, as it’s better known, is crisp, hoppy, and bursting with citrus. Philadelphia Pale Ale was named one of the best Pale Ales in the country by the New York Times.

This was a really great beer, with mild hops and flavorful malts. Definitely a great way to celebrate Philadelphia.

On draft at an Olive Garden in Willow Grove, PA. Dark golden in the glass, nearly amber. Fine white creamy head. Don´t know, why they iced the glass inside. Starts malty, light but definitiv present hop herb, light citrus fruity, pleasant light bitterness. And I added on my noticepaper the word crisp before I read it on the commercial description. Nice one!

Poured from 12 oz. bottle at Chanticleer Gardens in Wayne, PA near, Philadelphia. A fairly hoppy pale ale with a great citric hop flavor backed up by caramel and bready malt. Medium body and medium carbonation. A quite decent session ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Transfer from BA review on 5-25-12 - Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – The brew was served with a hazy yellow color with a medium white head. The head faded rather fast giving a light amount of lacing on the glass. Smell – The aroma is of bread, citrus and malt. The heaviest citrus is of lemon zest nature. Some other floral and spicy aromas are in the nose as well rounding it out nicely. Taste – The taste is of a biscuit and malt up front and is mixed with some lightly sweet and citrus hop notes. Toward the middle it dries out more with some lemon and spice entering the taste. While the biscuit flavor lessen as the taste goes on, the lemon and spice flavors get stronger as the flavor moves to the end. At the end a bitter lemon and spice flavor are left on the tongue. Mouthfeel – Light in body with a higher level of carbonation. Good for giving a refreshing and easy drinking brew. Overall – Very easy to drink with a drier bitter lemon and spicy flavor. While the bitter that it leaves on the tongue is just so-so it is a good session brew for a nice summer day as it has good flavors (other than the bitter aftertaste) and a great mouthfeel.

Like an EPA. Pours golden with good head and lacing. Light bitter with some malt. Finishes a little sour as well. Tap at Irish Pol.

Growler Mom brought home from Philly for me. Clear gold. Aroma of citrus, lemon zest, and a little pine. The taste follows suit with a some light bread/grain. The palate is light and clean. This is forgettable. There isn’t anything wrong with it but, nothing stands out either. Pretty plain.

Bright citrus flavor. Good pour...nice presentation in the glass. Carbonation and hops leave clear finish. Pilsner malt & 4.6 abv keeps it light enough to have another.

Yellow gold pour with a decent white head. Large citrus and toasted grain to the nose. Flavor is watery and bland. Some citrus and bready notes. Forgettable.
