Yards recently recreated this Pale Ale from scratch, and I’m happy to say that this is now a great beer, worthy of the other great Yards brews. If, like me, you tried this one before and didn’t care for it, try it now! It’s very flavorful, though pretty bitter, and, if nothing else, the aroma will knock your socks off...

Bottle: Poured a golden yellow with not much head. The aroma was somewhat hoppy with hints of lemon present. The flavor was decent, lemons and slight hops present. Overall, just OK, not great.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy, slightly darkened gold, with a large off-white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left no lace. Pleasant aroma of malt with some nice bright orange zest. The flavor is mild malt with some grapefruit bitterness at the finish. As the beer warms, a vegetable flavor with a metallic twang develops. Starts out promising but ends in disappointment.

Poured a week dark yellow color with a small white head. Aroma was fairly bland but with hints of some citrus hops. Flavor was also pretty bland. Nothing bad here, just very dull and boring.

Draft at some bar on South Street that I don’t remember the name of. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is hoppy, both lemon and floral, with ginger and butterscotch notes. Crisp, medium body. Flavor is primarily lemon and butterscotch. Not bad, very drinkable.

Pours with a nice thick head, golden color and very cloudy. Smells and tastes of hops. If that’s your thing you will probably like this beer. If not, look elsewhere.
