Biscuity malt aroma with hints of grass and straw with some graham cracker malt and a nice hop presence.
Lower end of medium body with a nice pilsner/ bicuity malt backbone and a decent hop presence for the style. Clean and very drinkable with a crisp subtle hop dry finish.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 30, 2009 Bottle from Cavie. Light orange-yellow pour with a thin, bubbly head. Tons of sweet, citrus hops aroma. Taste is dry and floral with some hops. Jayb0 (752), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 8, 2003 Updated: Aug 25, 2009Amber in appearance with a decent off-white head. Faint citrus aroma. Fairly high carbonation. A bit thin in the mouth, somewhat unbalanced flavors of grain/oat?, malt, and slight cider bitterness. Still, not as bad as it sounds fnishing fairly clean. As echoed in other reviews, not the best effort from yard’s and not a session beer for me.
ReRate 10/1/2007 Draft: This beer has improved over time. The balance is better and the toasted, breadiness comes through without dominating. Upping palate and overall.
Rerate 2009. I think this beer has really come into its own with the new yards brewery. The earthy, bready quality really sets it apart from typical APAs and I find myself going back to it repeatedly. upping all over the place... raymow (740), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Aug 5, 2003 I really like this beer and I'll definitely buy it again. Great color/appearance and nice malty flavor. As the commercial description says, it has a slight sweetness and dry finish. This is one of my new favorites and I'm going to rate it slightly higher than I normally would to try to make up for some of the bad reviews that I just read through. Pours a yellowish color with a slight orange tint and a foamy white head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit and malts. Taste is also of grapefruit, with the addition of caramel and hops. The mouthfeel was super smooth, well balanced and easy to drink. Pretty nice pale ale !!! xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA
