COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saisons were originally brewed to keep farmhands happy and hydrated during the warm summer months. True to the style, Yardsí Saison is a semi-unfiltered Belgian style ale brewed with distinctive Belgian yeast. Itís delicate and fruity with a subtle spiciness. Styrian Goldings in the kettle lend a touch of hop to the palate, balancing out this highly drinkable version of the classic style. Available April through July or until supplies last.

Bottle from a trade with Steeeve. Pours cloudy dark golden color with white head. Aromas of Belgian yeast, bananas and some spices. Spicy flavor with some bread dough, bananas and cloves. Medium body with lively carbonation. Thanks Steve.

Bottle. A slightly hazy copper pour with a smallish beige head. A sweet aroma full of candied sugar, bubblegum, some coriander, bananas, cloves, lemon, wheat, and a good bit of yeastiness. Goes down thin to medium-bodied and crisp. The taste starts with plenty of sweet candied sugar, bubblegum, and a little caramel. Grainy in the middle. The finish is crisp and wheaty with lots of lemons, limes, citrus rinds, and a dash of pepper. A yeastiness throughout. Quite refreshing.

Iíve had the 2009 earlier version, and I remembered how much I enjoyed that brew. Well, this one is no different! Cloudy, thick, citrusy saison, hint of hoppy citrus malts. Many people add an orange, which gives it another flavor. Well done. Yards is definitely an underrated brewery.

Lightly bready aroma, some spicing, poss coriander lemon, has a distinct wit beer character... Clear light golden amber, small white head, nice lacing... some very light banana and bubblegum flavors, lightest of belgian notes... medium body easy drinking...

I donít have much experience at all with sour beers but this seems ok to me. Murky color is appealing smells intriqinging. Tastes bitter and refreshing. I like it ok.

Golden with a white head. Slightly funky aroma, typical saison phenolics. Alcohol is a little rough on the palate. This was ok but didnít really come together the way I would have liked.

The hops are nice but a little too bitter. Great lacing. It is refreshing and would taste good on hot summer day.

Tap. Pretty clear with big white head. Nice for the summer, no to spicy. Not my style, but I actually enjoy this one.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is dry yeasty and slight peppery. Bitter and peppery. Dry and yeasty finish. Simple.

From a bottle into a snifter. Pours a very, very nice light blond orange. A few fingers of head which dissipates into a whisp of bubbles on the liquid. Great crisp aroma of pepper and lemon. Lots of carbonation in the mouthfeel, itís better once it calms down a little. Super tastes of pepper, lime, yeast, metal and funk. Overall, itís a darn solid saison and a good drinker during summer. Just enough alcohol so you can drink one or two. Iíll buy again, especially for the price.
