Spicy aroma, minimal white head, pale gold in color. Slightly spicy and pretty refreshing. Not much to this beer. Made better by a slice of citrus. Probiere (992), Iowa, USA

There was some clear malt and a hint of pepper, but overall this was just not pleasant to drink. A hazy pour with a soapy white diminishing head. Mouthfeel unremarkable. Very sweet and bright aroma of candied fruits, citrus, bread and a little spice on a backbone of crisp malt. Flavors mirrored the aroma with maybe the slightest note of pepper added in. Finish was tart and dry. A nice and refreshing brew - a couple notches down from the true Farmhouse Ales of Belgium but still a pretty good example of the style and worthy of a couple spaces in the Summer fridge lineup. I’m worried....this might ...skunked?
Nothing I’m reading is matching what I’m smelling or tasting....its like a really good beer is trying to get through but something is in the way. I mean its not bad...but something is up. JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia

Head is a foam of white, small bubbles that constantly rise from the bottom of the glass. Smells of sweet apples, rootbeer, and a little bitter from some fall spices. Taste is enjoyable, big and sweet to begin with apples, candied sugars, white grapes and lemon. Lots of carbonation. Pale malts and hops provide a nice bitter flavor once the sweetness subsides. Ending is pleasantly dry. Not the best looking beer you’ll see, but this is a good beer overall and certainly is worth a try. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 2, 2005 TONS of carbonation in this ale.....typical of other Yards’ beers. It’s too much carbonation though. Who wants to wait ten minutes to pour an entire mug. Not me.
Is it the water that ruins the aroma for Yards’ products? A Yards’ ale I drank last week smelled very similiar. Not a good aroma...mind you.
And while I’m at it.....this tastes like that same ale....which wasn’t a Belgian. I do enjoy the orange taste, but it’s bitter at the end. Leaves me feeling like they may bottle the same beer as two different products.
I’m not impressed by that at all. If you want a good Belgian, look elsewhere. beerguy101 (3972), Newark, California, USA

Aroma is fruity, banana, coriander and orange. A medium bodied saison. Malts are fruity and sweet. Lots of coriander and orange flavors. Spicy and barnyard funky. The soft and lively carbonation balances the spiciness of the beer well. An easy drinking saison. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
