3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz Bottle. The pour was a clear chestnut brown with a large (2-3 finger) off white rocky head that was mostly diminishing down to just a small collar with poor lacing.
The aroma was of a light bread malt, spruce hops and an earthy yeast with hints of molasses, caramel and a light honey sweetness.
The taste was lightly bitter sweet and mildly malty with a touch of molasses throughout, and then became lightly hoppy yet very mildly sweet at the end. The flavor lasted only a short while after the swallow with the flavor fading quickly off the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was light in body and watery in texture with a very soft carbonation.
Overall the aroma of this brew was stronger than the taste. Although light in flavor, what was there was very tasty and rather satisfying...

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber pour with medium white head. Aroma of pine and malt and some spices. Flavor of more pine and some spicy sweetness. This would be a good Christmas ale. Finish was a bit thin but flavorful.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark amber with beige head. Caramel malt aroma. Rich malty flavor some roasted malt flavor. Thereís a slight flavor on tongue that must be coming from the spruce but its not the flavor I expected from spruce. Really smooth beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle into pint glass, dark amber color with beige head. Aroma of heavy malt, nutmeg and slight spruce/pine note. Taste adds notes of nuttiness, bread, wood, cinnamon and slight juniper citrus note. Medium body, low carbonation, creamy, rich, smooth with piney malty finish. Interesting spiced malty beer.

Juniper berries, and wood nose, quite nice. Hazy copper, medium yellow head. Slightly tart, tangy, and malt forward. Juniper berries are dominant. Tannic, with grape skins. Dry and a little stale on the palate. Fizzy, but good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours very dark brown. Only hint of spruce in smell, I would like more. Drinkable, but it took an hour with food. Spruce on aftertaste.May be true to recipe, but Iím so-so on that recipe.
Recent bottle picked up in US trip.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark brown body with a lush, roasted cream head. Sweet, sprucey nose with some alcohol puffs. The body is probably the most spruce-infused I have ever experienced in a beer. Sweet, resinous and with an aftertaste of minty coffee drop. A touch stale.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The beer pours good with a nice dark amber, mild light passes through, an off white colored head but not much and minimal lacing. The beer smells is instant nutmeg which fades into an interesting sweet spruce smell. The taste is pretty much the same, nutmeg up front that goes into sweet spruce finish. The mouthfeel is decent with a mild bitterness, some spice and spruce flavor lingering around. Overall, an interesting beer, the nutmeg takes away a little bit from the beer but an interesting good beer.
