Pours a copper color with an off white head. Aroma of sweetness and........uhhh.....hard to discern, very slight apple.......taste is tart molasses and malt sweetness and apple as it disappears. Alcohol makes an appearance late and if Jefferson actually made this brew 225 years ago he was well ahead of his time. I actually enjoy the change of pace and taste compared to so many other ales......thank you Mr President.

Pours a clear caramel/golden color with a medium lt tan head. Aroma has winey fruits, molasses, and pine. Flavor follows suit and adds sweet toffee and bread. Mouthfeel is full and syrupy with a piney dry finish.

It’s an.... ok brew. For an American strong style it’s rather weak on taste, and a little heavy. Tastes a little a IPA more than ASA. Aroma kind of reminds you of a tavern though. First taste has a bit of a bite to it, but I quickly got used to it.

This was my least favorite of the revolutionary flight at the brewery. The alcohol shone thorugh too much.

Draft @ the brewery, 13 Oct 2012. Slightly hazy amber color. Nose has grain and bread malt. Upfront has a sweet caramelized malt note with crisp and dry hops helping balance the sweetness. The body is a bit on the thin side, yet makes it more drinkable. ABV isn’t real apparent. Has an almost creamy texture. Pretty decent.

Draft at Sugars. Dark amber pour with a minimal head. Juicy malt flavors. Red plums. Black peppercorns. Some toasted bready notes. Burnt oranges. Earthy truffles. Wildflower honey. Quite bitter on the tongue. Medium full body. Interesting notes. Lacking a bit, but still well worth sampling.

Bottle. The pour was a clear medium brown with a slight orange hue and an average (1-2 finger) off-white creamy head that lasted a decent time, finally reducing to a large puddle with a medium collar and had good streaky lacing. The aroma was of a toasted caramel malt, citrus hops and a doughy yeast with notes of toffee, dark fruit (grapes and plums) and possessed a slight alcohol tinge. The taste very lightly sweet and a bit malty with a hint of toffee from the start, then slowly became exceptionally bitter with a note of dark fruit and a bitter citrus peel ending. The flavor lasted a decently long time after the swallow, with a strong bitterness left lying on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was between light and medium in body and slightly dry in texture with a medium carbonation. Overall a good powerful tasting brew with a nice bitter malty fruitiness...
