3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
From a capped 750 into. a Duvel tulip. Pours a dark brown with some serious off white head. Earthy, dirty aroma with sweet plums, dates and yeast. Mouthfeel is moderate and slightly slick with a good dose of carbonation. Taste is pretty Belgian with dark fruit, spices, molasses, water, minerals and moss. But it's too light. The flavor is muted for what I'd expect from this type of beer. Ok but I wouldn't really buy again if given the opportunity.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black/dark brown, nice lacing. Strong malty and fruity aroma. Flavor is follows sweet. Really like the nice fruity flavors. Nice mouth fill, with low carbonation. Didn’t really notice the trippel spiciness, but the large dubble malt body is there. Alcohol is apparent as well but blends in nicely. Aftertaste is pleasant as smooth, Apparently only comes out every couple years. Best one ive tried from yards.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle. Translucent dark brown with a reddish hue. Large creamy tan head. Yeasty toasted malt aroma with notes of brown sugar, cocoa and dark fruits. Flavor upfront is roasted malt, cocoa, banana and dark caramel. Chewy dark malt flavor comes through with more dark fruit and spicy hops. Finish is bittersweet and dry. Although it has hints of Belgian style, it is more an American dark ale. Very good none the less.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
This is the best brew I have ever had by Yards. Pours deep red, almost purple in color. Aroma is sweet candy yeast and malts. Taste is chocolaty, yet fruity. Very smooth on palate, sticky finish with slight alcohol burn.

Appears nearly black in glass, small, tan head with some nice lace.
Tastes like chocolate covered bananas, coffee, and malt. Really solid. After taste lingers pleasantly.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Location: Bomber from Buy Rite, 1/22/13
Aroma: A fairly sweet nose, with brown sugar, chocolate, Belgian yeast, spice, and some dark fruit
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a foamy, lasting, brown head that leaves heavy lace
Flavor: The taste is mid-heavy sweet, with quite a bit of spice as well, and some nice complexity
Palate: The body is medium-plus, it has a smooth feel with a little stickiness, and a soft carbonation
This is an interesting one, and interesting is the right word, because it is probably more interesting then it is good. By that I mean that even though there’s a lot going on, which leads to a fairly complex flavor, it doesn’t all fit together perfectly. Still though, it is quite interesting and worth trying, and I like the idea of the beer and much of what is happening, so I’m a little torn. I could probably drink this one 10 times and have 10 different scores, but tonight, I settled here.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
1 pint, 9.36 oz. bottle. Malty-yeasty nose with light spice, sparkling fruity Belgian yeast out in front of a touch of yellow sunshine, but there’s light and dark roast, too. Pours a hazy amber that settles brown with transparency around the hips, rocky tan head, just gorgeous on the whole. Lightish body, beautiful Belgian yeast at the fore, alcohol extremely well hidden, fruit is extremely bright. Light malty chocolate and herbal notes in with the mineral. Restrained sweetness, low bitterness but it’s a very tasty one in the aftertaste. Advertised as having the spiciness of a trippel, maltiness of a dubbel, but they also seemed to have plucked the best of each yeast variation; this is a great example of wonderful subtlety in the soft middle and on the margins.
