Murky dark, slightly red. Nose a bit musty, some sweetness there. Is sugary and sweet up front, has a fruity sourness. Finishes mildly smoky, some tobacco. A very interesting mix of flavors.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 PeterA (340) - SLOVAK REPUBLIC - DEC 10, 2003
Slightly acrid scent, but not unpleasant. Light brown head that was sufficiently thick, the beer itself was a dark caramel color. I tasted apple and maybe some grape, it was nicely bitter. The carbonation was mild and the aftertaste was smooth. This is a unique beer for me, the tartness works very well.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 hopscotch (8217) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 8, 2003
This beer rocks!
Very dark beer with a murky, burnt orange color when held up to bright light. Creamy, well-tanned head with great retention.
The nose is awesome; a marriage of styles... abbey, dubbel and lambic-like. Tart cherries, citrus fruit and prune.
The flavor is also tart with citrus fruit and very smooth malt. Medium-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Lengthy, tart, tangy, astringent finish. World class ale!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 argo0 (10388) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 6, 2003
Muddy dark brown with medium tan head. Aroma is medium sweet, berry fruity, sour yeasty. Taste is very sour, blueberry, yeasty, light cherry. Full body. Calls itself a cross between a dubbel and trippel, but there's some definite lambic quality to this.

Light black. Has a funky weird ass bitter aroma to it. Nice weak sour feel to the body.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Vac (2445) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 14, 2003
This brew pours with an opaque dark brown body topped by a medium thick head with a good amount of lacing left on the glass. The aroma is slightly sweet yet sour and malty with a slight spiciness. The flavor is slightly bitter and sour with a slight spiciness. Medium bodied and smooth yet dry.

Brown and clear with a tan head. Pissy, nutty and sour hop aroma. Flavor is sour malts, hops and fruits. Medium body, slight carbonation. Pretty good, but I guess I don't totally get this style yet.
