deep burgandy/brown color with a thin head..cherries!, tart apple brettanomyces touched loveliness..sour, dark and complex with malty cherry tartness..I like it..i like it a lot!

amazing stuff. the 1 litre swingtop bottle was a good start. belgian sour ale character - wood and cherry aroma, deep murky brown and imposing. tastes initially of cherry with a big burst of sourness. some surprise chocolate and tomato juice flavours came through later in the glass. was just staggered by this - the hich alcohol was evident but not out of place. cultivated some of the yeast and it made a great batch of home brew so that was an added bonus rather than a subtracted bonus

Leather and chocolate aroma, sour barnyard taste with a strawberry nuance, awesome, full mouthfeel and a super smooth palate.

Pours reddish-brown, like a dark dubbel, with barely any head. Looks a little cloudy too. Plums/raisins and slightly sour aroma. Flavor is bold with tartness, some fruit, a little yeasty. Not too carbonated. Very complex as with most good belgium style beers. Very good no doubt.

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2015 Poured a dark amber, ruby color with a tan head. It had a sour citrus aroma, some cherries were detected in the aroma as well. The taste was dominantly sour, with lemon, plum and certainly citrus noted, I very good beer and I would love to buy this again.

A truly wonderful experience. I have to admit i wasn't expecting much, only because i was paying attention to some of the more highly rated US beers we had at the tasting. But all that aside, this was a truly fantastic beer drinking experience. Love the bottle, huge one litre swing top bottle, ensured my experience lasted longer, because i got a bigger serving sample. This was a very mellow, yet complex beer. Lovely chocolate-ish malts, some sour fruit, maybe some cherries and grapes, defintiely a bit vinous. Beautiful tart refreshing sourness to finish off (a bit Rodenbachish), with a lingering finish. I won't ramble on about it to much, i think i did last night when having it, everyone was probably like "shut up, dickhead", coz i kept going on about it. What can i say, i loved it.

definitely the champ of the evening against some very highly fancied opposition - d head, celebrator, h of d, old horizontal, etc etc - this was a mother. the perfect combination of sourness with dark malts, what can I say. like goudenband blended with brooklyn black choc stout. definitely "purple" tasting as ringo says - dark grape juice all the way. not many discrete flavours popping out, just clean, smooth, rich maltiness + quenching tartness. sex in a barnyard.

This ale is a mix between a dubble and trippel. Flavor tart and fruity. Finishes dry and bitter.

This is an experimental effort to brew a dubble at tripel strength. It has a sugary taste at turns. But there are enough nuances to keep one drinking. I noticed a number of various fruit flavors in the beer. It hides the high octane well.
