COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Taking elements from two classic Belgian styles, we’ve crafted a beer that incorporates the best characteristics of both tripels and dubbels. Trubbel boasts the strength and spiciness of a tripel and the rich malt character of a dubbel. We brew this uncommon ale with a classic Belgian yeast strain, dark Belgian candi sugar, and a unique blend of specialty malts, producing subtle biscuit, chocolate, and caramel overtones. Available November through January beginning in even years only.

Had this at the HBF. Pours dark brown. Aroma of malt, fruit, peat. Tastes malty, with some fruitiness, earthiness, and sweet caramel flavor at the finish. Nice style.

From AC Beer Fest 2013. The aroma is bread, fruit. The flavor is just like the aroma. The appearance is clear yellow/amber, white head. The finish is pepper. Quite good.

From notes: Poured a deep, opaque nutty brown, with a 1-finger tan head. Nice amount of lacing. Sweet candied fruit aroma, with some nuttiness and a spice note. Full body with a mild, syrupy thickness, Deep, nutty malt flavor with spice notes and some candy sweetness. Very nice.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice three centimetre tall tan head and a dark brown, ruby and violet tint when held up to a light. Aroma of malt, alcohol, pit fruits, raisins, earth, yeast and some bananas - very nice and a good blend of a dubbel and trip, with the smell favouring dubbel. Medium-bodied; Strong roasty malt flavours with a lot of pit fruits, some earth and medicinal notes and hints of light spices overlayed with sugars throughout. Aftertaste shows a strong yeast note, some alcohol, bananas again and a good pit fruit sweetness. Overall, a well-crafted beer that blends styles, but shows a nice complexity and flavour profile - great to try! I just wish this wasn’t in such a large format bottle. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 06-July-2013 for US$7.91 sampled at home in Washington on 06-September-2013.

Usually Belgian beers are not my favorite, but to my surprise this one from Yards is very tasty. Aromas of caramel and chocolate with an appearance of a medium to dark amber. Would love to try more from Yards!
