duff (5405), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jun 15, 2003 A truly wonderful experience. I have to admit i wasn't expecting much, only because i was paying attention to some of the more highly rated US beers we had at the tasting. But all that aside, this was a truly fantastic beer drinking experience. Love the bottle, huge one litre swing top bottle, ensured my experience lasted longer, because i got a bigger serving sample. This was a very mellow, yet complex beer. Lovely chocolate-ish malts, some sour fruit, maybe some cherries and grapes, defintiely a bit vinous. Beautiful tart refreshing sourness to finish off (a bit Rodenbachish), with a lingering finish. I won't ramble on about it to much, i think i did last night when having it, everyone was probably like "shut up, dickhead", coz i kept going on about it. What can i say, i loved it.

Arayaga2 (757), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 5, 2005 A tad tart with alcohol apparent, and fleeting sweetness. To address the previously stated idea that the sourness is an unintentional feature of Yards’ bottling process, I will say that I’ve had it straight from a keg at the brewery, and it still tastes that way. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA Jan 15, 2005 Poured a very dark brown which looked like a dubble. The smell was very strong, in fact too strong for my taste. The alcohol was very strong in the aroma. The aroma was fruity, and had liquorice and a bitterness like vinegar in it as well. The taste was the same, but the alcohol came up and bit me. Pretty good, but nothing to go crazy over. bu11zeye (3656), Frisco, Texas, USA Jan 1, 2005 (Draught, Drafting Room) Pours a murky dark brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of licorice and dark fruits. Flavor of licorice, raisins, cherry, molasses, and a hint of wood and smoke. PWalk (332), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 21, 2004 Updated: Mar 8, 2005On tap, Grey Lodge: Cherries, mollases and alcohol all dominate this beer now and I like it. A decent finishing burn from the alcohol make this beer a 2 "Danger Will Robinson" special.
