2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 tgncc (2290) - Bellmore, New York, USA - MAR 4, 2009
The aroma is grass, some corn sweetness. The apperance is straw yellow, white head, true to its style. The flavor is grassy, sweet, corn, low signature of malts or hops. The finish is a sweet syrupy corn like residue. Not good. I guess it’s ok for the odious pale lager style.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 thegreenrooster (2807) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - MAR 1, 2007
Pour is a bright yellow with a average white head. Aroma is faint grains and not much else. Flavor is a very weak and very bland. Some sweetness but no hops or malts are present. Still its not skunky and i’ll give it that.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 detroiter (958) - Euphoria, Minnesota, USA - JAN 27, 2007
Pours a hazy straw color with 1/2" of white foam and briefly fizzy carbonation. No head retention, no lacing. Mild skunkiness and some citrus in the aroma.
Odd, the flavor is nothing like the aroma - no skunk at all, no citrus, little hoppiness. Instead, it has an initial and very brief wheat tang. Then its gone. Completely. This is replaced by a sweetness, tasting a little of honey and a lot of amber candi sugar. It is quite sweet, but shy of being cloying. A small hop presence makes itself known in the finish.
Almost medium body, and surprisingly on the flat side.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 21, 2006
(Can 50 cl) Clear, pale, pilsener golden with a small, white head. Aroma of brewing cereal (rice) and malt. Medium-bodied, lightly tart notes from the brewing cereal - and then really nothing much more. Overly carbonated. 161106
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Hildigöltur (5106) - København, DENMARK - MAY 18, 2006
Pale golden coloured. Light aroma. Mild and fairly clean flavour. Refreshing and quite good.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 Ungstrup (26267) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAY 7, 2006
A light yellow beer with a bubbly white head. The aroma contains notes of straw and brewing cereal. The flavor is sweet yet sourness from the use of brewing cereal lingers in the background, leading to a very dry end with a strong note of hay combined with a slight bitterness. My guess was that there was corn in this beer, but the label tells me, that the brewing cereal used is rice.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 HermanW (979) - Coevorden, NETHERLANDS - APR 9, 2006
A cold icebeer should be very delcate but this one was NOT special.
It had a strange taste.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 robertsreality (2460) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 12, 2005
Light Cloudy Yellow/Gold Coloring. Sweet Malt, Some Candy Sugar Notes and a Bitter Ending. Little to Love on This Brew.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 badgerben (4253) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - DEC 3, 2005
Cloudy gold color with no head. Sweet alcohol aroma with a little grain. The alcohol turns horribly sour in the taste, followed up by some wheat. I would have expected more burn from an ice beer, but not tasty at all.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 frankenkitty (1958) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - SEP 20, 2005
Golden with a white, fading head and soft carbonation. Some milkiness to the aroma of grainy malts and metal. Some latent scent reminds me of a vacuum cleaner. Malts come out more in the flavor, rather sweet and waxy... reminds me of those little wax-bottle candies of yesteryear. A touch of grassy hop to finish. Alcohol late. My numbers above feel accurate, but I can’t understand why the total score ends up so high. This really isn’t that good...
