Cask at GBBF 2009. Gold, lasting beige head. Slightly buttery golden ale. OK but just that bit of diacetyl that doesn’t belong in a golden ale.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green, 07/04/13. Hazed pale golden with a thin off white head. Nose carries peas, vegetal strains, musty - meh! Taste comprises veg, pea soup, light fruit, sugars, hint of citrus. Medium bodied, moderate carnonation, light bitterness in the finish. I see this beer was last rated almost 2 years ago in June 2011, I wouldn’t be overly surprised to find that this was the same cask !!!

Cask conditioned at The Royal Oak, Wantage. Gold with white head. Heavily perfumed beer with a flowey hop, dry on the palate and remarkably, slightly smoked tea like, maybe a bit lapsang souchong. It’s ok if a touch challenging.

Cask conditioned handpump Spyglass Inn Ventnor. A golden beer with a white head and lacing. A bit of diacetyl in this together with sweet malts. There is a drinkability about it but it’s quite plain.
