3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 NachlamSie (2345) - Tennessee, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Big bottle from The Market on Washington and High. Pours a really cloudy light yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma is tart with lots of lemon and flowers. Smells like a straight up witbier, basically. The flavor is where the difference is. It is quite odd that the coffee and smoke are not detectable in the nose at all, yet come out in the flavor, albeit not very strong. This is a very light bodied brew and the addition of coffee is weird, but it works. It rounds out the finish nicely. What starts as a citrusy refresher with a wheaty body ends with a suggestion of smokey iced coffee. There is a well balanced sweetness to offset the sour and smokey notes. This is a great session beer and different too.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 SpringsLicker (2822) - Tennessee, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Pours clear light yellow with a large billowy white head.
Very faint smoke aroma with some citrus; but overall not much aroma at all.
The flavor follows the aroma.
Unexciting.

Bottled 750ml with no food pairing. Aroma was of citrus and smoke. Poured into a a nice standing white head. Appearance was a hazy golden color. One first taste my impression my thoughts where " sell the brewery, this is not good." But it only took a sip or to for my palate to adjust to the oddity in my mouth. This beer was full bodied yet finished very dry. Notes of smoked wheat dominated this beer. Finished dry with just enough bitterness to make you want the next drink. Not the best beer I’ve ever had, but surely a very different flavor and nice to have every once and a while. Nice to have these guys local.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Phatdog1 (113) - Brentwood, New Hampshire, USA - APR 15, 2013
750 ml bottle compliments of nearbeer. Poured a hazy orange color. Unfiltered, some floaties. Nose of earth, peet, yeast and a faint floral aroma. Smoke immediately up front mellows into a nice wheat flavor with a little scorch at the back end. No hint of smoke on the finish, but there’s some hops that linger. This is a tough one to figure out.

750 ml. Hazy golden pour with a one inch, creamy head and lots of effervescent action in the body; the look of a Belgian Tripel. Nose of smoky wheat and resin, with a hint of dish soap. Taste is upfront with smoke and light wheat that develops into a smoky, lightly peppery cracker with some touches of wild garlic, green grass, resins and lightly sour citrus on the finish. I normally only consume beer, but this seems like it would pair nicely with some sort of fish. I might take up eating food again just to see. Light body is smooth, and surprisingly seems lightly carbonated with a slight oily texture, and is to the dry side.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 wedgie9 (1590) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 7, 2013
Tasted on draft at the Yazoo tap room on 3/7/13. Pours hazy dark yellow with almost a brown tint and a thick white head that slowly recedes to average but rocky lace. The nose is dusty cracked wheat malt with a light hint of smoke and a bitter, almost green coffee note. The flavor is light wheat malt up front, moving to an almost creamy wheat flavor and ending with a very lightly, very light coffee note. The body is medium with an almost creamy texture, average carbonation and a long strangely bitter finish.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20 Suttree (4452) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 15, 2012
This was an odd one. Murky brownish orange and no head. Smells fruity, wheat-ish, some smoke aromas. Very watery on the first sip. Taste is Lemony, some wheat malt, some smokey notes. Dry finish. Not a total lost cause by any means, but maybe needs a few minor tweaks.
