3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 boto (1548) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - JAN 29, 2012
Draught @ Mellow Mushroom: This one pours a clear amber color. There was a small off-white head on it that left some lacing. Nose is mainly piney hops with some citrus. Medium bodied. Taste is a bit bitter with mainly piney notes. Smooth. A decent pale ale.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ansermadide (850) - Kyle, Texas, USA - JAN 21, 2012
What appears to be a single-hop Amarillo pale ale! I like the idea! I just realized that Yazoo is one of those brewers that uses the "fatty" 12 ounce bottles with screw-tops. It’s very clear-bodied and filtered in appearance with a glowing orange color. It has a nice, foamy off-white head. Aroma is actually very nice - crisp, fresh and very well-hopped. The flavor is pretty darned good. Not very dense - a very thin body, but with a fantastic Amarillo hop presence. Definitely a single-hop beer. The finish is a little bitter in a very mellow way. Not in an intense bitter way, but rather light and mellow. You can tell they used the Amarillo in the bittering as well, and I think they did a great job on the hop scheduling. They definitely didn’t skimp on the Amarillo. A very fresh, crisp and clean, well-dosed pale ale. Just a little too thin, I think. This would be even better with just a little more body (a different yeast), as this is just a little too thin.

Draft. Pours orange amber with a white head. Light floral hoppy aroma with a light malty sweetness. The flavor is well balanced, with some fruity sweetness, floral hops, and light toffee notes. Decent.

On tap at Flying Saucer, Nashville. Pours a clear orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, bready malt, and sweaty hops. Flavor is mostly malty with some citrusy hop bitterness in the finish. Good pale, but I wish it was hoppier!

On tap at the brewery. Relatively mild citrus hoppiness and nice malt flavor. Not a bad beer, could be a good beer for an evening or with a meal.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 nuplastikk (2443) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 1, 2011
12oz shorty bottle. I have good reason to believe this bottle is the better part of a year old, but it still holds up quite well. Unfiltered orange-tan, frothy head that laces the glass. Orange-lemon aroma. Medium to full bodied, soapy. The malt is a little thin, but overall a solid, refreshing APA. Probably an unfair rate, as their other beers were phenomenal.
