Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 27, 2008 Slightly hazy amber. Fruity hops nose (blackcurrant, plum, pear). Fresh hop taste is woody, lightly fruity. Bitterness is moderate. Malts are mostly pale, slightly toasty. The finish is dry, lingering long on the tongue with hop. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 09/10/2005

amber, thin head, sweet piny citrus aroma, big hoppy flavor on a slightly sweet carmel malt base, bitterness eventually takes over and leaves everything else to languish in the dust

Mes_and_Sim (4360), Highgate, Greater London, England Sep 15, 2007 A Sim rate (on tap at the Flyng Saucer Memphis): Wheaty aroma. Nice amber colour wth decent lacing. The flavour’s a bit harsh, though, and the alcohol really shows. Wheat. Malt. Nice enough. acrdz (4302), Boulder, Colorado, USA Aug 13, 2006 Slightly hazy orange and ruby red colored body. Slightly grassy hops note, branch and bark-like, buttery, leafy nose with some gritty wheat and malt notes. Reminds me of SNPA at times. Dry and bitter throughout, with some grassy, piney flavors. Moderate thickness for a pale ale. Overall very refreshing and fruity, with proper bittering levels. Well made. Bottle purchased in Nashville. BBB63 (3800), La Porte, Indiana, USA Jan 20, 2006 Bottle (from Wohlfs) and served in a trusty pint glass: Pours a hazy sunset hue with a small but lasting frothy head and left pretty good lace. The aroma has notes of light citric and piney hops, bready malts, dusty and chalky yeast esters. The taste is mostly mild bitterness and some citrus supported by a subdued malt backing. Stramgely I pick up some alcoholic notes which are not common for a pale ale. The feel is very crisp and lively with a light astrengent finish. All told, not a bad beer but seems to be lacking on all fronts.
