COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Many Mexican beer styles today are descendants of old Austrian styles, from when Austria ruled Mexico in the late 19th century. Our Dos Perros is made with German Munich malt, English Pale malt, and Chocolate malt, and hopped with Perle and Saaz hops. To lighten the body, as many Mexican brewers do, we add a small portion of flaked maize. The result is a wonderfully bready malt aroma, balanced with some maize sweetness and a noble hop finish.

Tasted out of a 12oz. bottle. It poured a clear reddish-brown with a thin off-white head. Fruity malt aroma and taste with a slightly bitter finish.

Yazoo’s Dos Perros has a thin, off-white head, not much lacing, and a clear, bubbly, rust-brown appearance. The aroma is of pungent, full, brown bread crust and syrupy sweetness, with a background of corn. Taste is of sweet, brown bread crust, underlying corn, and a touch of molasses. No bitterness, here. Mouthfeel is medium and slick, and Dos Perros finishes semi-dry, refreshing, and easy drinking. Overall, this is very enjoyable. RJT

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a clear dark ruby-brown with a very thin and soapy white head. Basically nothing in the way of head retention or lacing. Not very impressed. The aroma makes up for the poor appearance by providing some nice nutty, fruity notes. Roasted malt with some very light coffee along with a touch of dark fruit. Some corn is detectable as well. Not bad. More fruitiness than I was expecting in the taste along with a nice shot of roasted malt and coffee. The corn is detectable but it remains restrained in the background and nicely compliments the flavor. Bitterness is on the light side with a very light and almost chalky mouthfeel. Overall, a pretty nice, easy drinking beer. There is not a whole lot going on here but enough to keep a very light beer interesting.

Bottle->tumbler. Amber with small lacy white head. Caramel malt, nuts, hints of earthy hops and ash. Somewhat watery, lacks depth. Eh.

12 oz bottle. Bottled 8/23/13. (Midtown Wine) Nashville, TN.
Dark mahogany colour with a tiny off-white head. Dark malt and mild hoppy sweetness in the aroma. Sweet malt, mild smoke (?) and mild dark hops in the flavour. Quite boring. But a good history lesson. I didn’t know Austria ruled Mexico some time ago...

12 oz. bottle. Deep amber color with thin ring of lace. Nose is caramel malt, brown sugar and an English style malt. Flavor is leaning on the English side for sure. Earthy malt, notes of chocolate and a hint of smoke. Body is light for the Style and has a slick texture. Overall about average.

Chattanooga, TN - Riverside Wine & Spirits - 12 oz bottle. Medium to dark copper pour, soft bubbly white head that clings to the edge of the glass. Fresh lake water accents with a hint of wort in the aroma. Flavor has a nutty profile with some chocolate accents, a touch of toffee, finishes with some black dirt accents - nice and full bodied. Mouthfeel has a nice thickness to it. Very nice alt.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this beer, but after trying it a few times, I fail to see why it was as hyped as it was. A decent looking amber nectar that falls short in aroma and flavour. A little too sweet, and a few too many adjuncts.

Smells of caramel. Dark reddish brown. Raisens, brown sugar. This is like a heavier maltier Mexican beer. Reminds me of the first beers i ever brewed 16 years ago....brings back memories
