COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fall Ale is made with all German malts - Munich, Vienna, Cara malt, and a little bit of Rye. It’s generously hopped with Hallertauer and Tettnang hops from Germany. It’s an ale, not a lager, but it’s loosely based on a typical Octoberfest beer, with our own twist with the Rye malt.

A golden amber Marzen with a thin white head. In aroma, mineral malt with grassy hops. In mouth, a crisp alt with light mineral notes, sweet, a bit cloying. On tap at Knoxville Brewer’s Jam, Oct. 22 2011.

12 oz. bottle from grownfool- thanks again, Brian! Pours a clear orange-amber color with a huge, rocky, foamy off-white head that leaves some spots of lacing. Aroma of caramel, Munich, and toasted malts, rye, orange peel, and grass. Flavor of the same variety of malts, toasted sugar, rye, and a mineral note that washes it out on the end. However, another toasty malt note shows up in the aftertaste for a nice lingering finish. Decent marzen.

Clear deep copper colored body that sits beneath a tall, mostly white head. Big candy malt aroma. Nutty. Light malt sweetness in the flavor with little or no hop flavor or aroma. A bit thin.

Cloudy brown copper in color. Weak malty aroma. Some smoke is detectable. Slight toasty malt flavor with a medicinal hops aftertaste... like aspirin. Overall, it’s OK. Some complexity but it’s a bit watered down. Not sure I dig the medicinal aftertaste but at least it’s drinkable.

Pint at the brewery. Hazy gold, thin beige head. Aroma of biscuit and caramel. Taste is also sweet with a doughy characteristic. Medium body, smooth texture.

Thanks to jcwattsrugger for the share. Pours opaque caramel brown with a white head. Nose is biscuit, malt, caramel, and a mild toffee-like sweetness. Flavor is similar with vague sweetness finishing with mild bitterness. Enjoyable, sessionable beer.

Growler pour courtesy of jcwattsrugger. It pours amber with off white head. The aroma is mildly spicy and earthy with crystal malts in the background. The taste is pretty crisp and fresh and offering up modest notes of spicy hops, earthy hops and a sense of floral hops as well as some sweet malts and sweet crystal like malts.

Bottle pours a lasting ring of beige head with a copper body. Aromas of caramel, malt, and some tangy hops. Flavor is the same. Finish is zesty and rather clean.

12 oz bottle. Pours bright copper with a thick white head. Nose is fairly standard lager (although it’s an ale) with some small hints of spiciness. Taste is very bitter, with a nice malt profile. Not my favorite style but nice to try one.
