3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle from grownfool- thanks again, Brian! Pours a clear, deep amber color with a big off-white head. Aroma of floral hops, pine, grapefruit citrus, and caramel malts. Flavor is pretty much the same- itís simple but very nice. Iím liking these Sorachi Ace hops. Some bitterness late and in the finish, and the malts take a backseat. Light-medium bodied, with average carbonation. Very nice IPA, and Iím looking forward to the next time Iím in Nashville so I can bring home some future Hop Projects.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma of lemony hops. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavor of pale malts, countered by an earthy hop flavor of lemon grass and citrus. Very dry on the palate. Long, clingy bitter finish. Much different than previous versions, and is sort of growing on it.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Probably my least favorite hop project in a long time. Not a big fan of Sorachi Ace hops or Japanese beer in general. Very dry. Not sweet at all. Not great. But interesting. Iíll give ya credit for trying. Keep it up Yazoo. They keep canít all win gold.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark copper with a nice one inch tight bubbled off-white head. Some nice light lacing. The nose is deliciously hoppy and fresh smelling with some citrusy and resiny qualities. Minimal malt interference, just some light toasty and caramel malts. The flavor is bright and citrusy up front, then fades to a more malt driven finish showing some husky and toasted maltiness. The hops are really out in front and fresh with a moderate bitterness level. Some long lingering bitter notes on the late finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with nice lively carbonation that emphasizes the bitterness. Very enjoyable, I want more of these now.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear orange, off white foam. Drippy lacing. Aroma is lemony, zesty, spicy. Taste is kinda dirty spicing, mint, herbal, some light dough and sweet caramel.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Nose is earthy-spiced pepper and ginger, pine sawdust, caramel, light ozone. Flavor is a well-blended mix of the same, with more ozone, tea leaf, bitter pecan shells, brown sugar and an undercurrent of iced tea with lemon. This is a unique, earthy and "dirty" IPA; the way I like íem. Lasting crunchy head above a dark copper body. Light-medium body is smoothly carbonated and soft, slightly tingly, and well-balanced.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pint at the brewery. This looks just as good as all the other Hop Projects: a bold orange with a permanent white head. The aroma is muted considering the other IPAís in this series. There is a some grass and herbal bite with a sweet malt backdrop. The flavor presents more bitterness, but itís not off the charts. This is one of the more unique IPAís Iíve had lately with a strange suggestion of coconuts and strong mango flavor. The finish is where any bitterness lurks, leaving a pleasing sting on my palate. This is certainly different and not too bad but falls short of the glory of some other Hop Project releases.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled on the 3rd week of August, 2010. Copper, white head. Grapefruit with brown sugar on top aroma. . Surprisingly sweet notes up front, then a nice citrusy hop finish. Some butterscotch notes as it warms (in a good way).
