3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 GG (1980) - NorCal, California, USA - DEC 27, 2011
"12 oz bottle -
Received from Lou (muchas gracias!!). A really well made saison that seemed to hit nearly every note that I enjoy in a saison. The nose was a little reminiscint of a hefeweizen with lots of banana and clove in the aroma. But after awhile, that kind of goes away and some honey/apple juice notes with a light funky character...almost like green apples. Flavor had some strong notes of apples, honey, and citrus. Medium sweetness kind of keeps this from higher ratings territory. I do enjoy a really dry saison, but this was nice.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 wnoble (640) - French Lick, Indiana, USA - NOV 24, 2011
This one pours deep golden with nice white head sporting large bubbles. Nose is full of sourish qualities and clove and peppery spice yeast. Also some sweet malts in the nose as well. Flavor is spices and some fruity esters with some oxidized sweet malt flavors and a nice dry finish. Mouthfeel is light and fizzy but somehow almost full bodied. Medium light bitterness. Pretty good but somehow lacking in overall yeast flavors.

Bottle with a little age on it...still fine though. Nice clear copper color with a small white head. Tart aroma with a hint of rye. Taste also hints at some sourness but definitely a saison base. Pretty tasty.

Orange brown color with a creamy head. Sweet smell and a slight bananna taste. It was a good beer
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Chickencoop (188) - California, USA - JUL 31, 2011
Big amber pour, lightly chunky head. Big yeasty nose, spicy. Big mouthfeel, and big citrus. Didn;t get much of the rye, but still a solid beer. I would love to get one of these again.

Pours a hazy orange with a nice firm white head. Rye prominent in the aroma, along with a tripel like yeastiness. Rye definitely adds pepper to the malt backbone, a little sweet with honey and pear.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Cybercat (1735) - Georgia, USA - JUL 21, 2011
Pours a nice clear amber with an average fluffy white head. Crisp, malty aroma has fruity and rye tones and a yeasty hint. Malty aroma has a decided rye component plus some sweet fruity tone and just a hint of honey. Texture is fairly smooth with a strong fizz. Overall, not too shabby.
