A cloudy yellow-orange pour with a white head. The aroma is fruity yet a little spicy with notes of orange juice. The medium body has a slightly oily texture with lively carbonation. The taste is sweet, but also a little earthy.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with little head and aromas of orange, lemon, honey, pear and grass. Fairly nice light, fruity and sweet aromas. Flavor is very similar, but it seems like the booze is sticking out, but other than that, I really like this saison.

At first I thought "hmmmm, maybe I just don’t like this style" but after trying similar beers of the same style I was horrified of this brew.

A copper color with white head. The aroma is nice with some apricot, brown sugar, citrus, and rye. Flavor is somewhat bitter with caramel, brown sugar, citrus, and rye. Some bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall I dig it

I’m digging on Yazoo Rye Saison, my first beer from the Nashville brewery. The rye supplies a pleasant surprising tang that immediately hits the tongue before the brew settles into typical Saison territory. Still, that first hit of rye keeps me coming back to the glass. The finish is classic Saison (and, it’s fine, go ahead a bitch about how all saisons taste alike. I don’t mind.) But the rye adds a subtle layer to this beer that seperates it from the run-of-the-mill French farmhouse ales. Definitely worth grabbing a bottle.

Tasted 8/20/10. 12oz bottle. Activated pour produces a hazy body with a bright orange golden hue. Ring and skim layer of off-white head. Aromas of candy citrus yeast and a grainy peppery note. Medium bodied with a rich mouthfeel and good palate. Sticky sweet malts and a decent peppery bitter flavor. Good dose of orange and mild tangy grapefruit. Good tingling effervescence. Nice and fruity with a dry peppery finish, pretty straight up.
