Big amber pour, lightly chunky head. Big yeasty nose, spicy. Big mouthfeel, and big citrus. Didn;t get much of the rye, but still a solid beer. I would love to get one of these again.

A cloudy yellow-orange pour with a white head. The aroma is fruity yet a little spicy with notes of orange juice. The medium body has a slightly oily texture with lively carbonation. The taste is sweet, but also a little earthy.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with little head and aromas of orange, lemon, honey, pear and grass. Fairly nice light, fruity and sweet aromas. Flavor is very similar, but it seems like the booze is sticking out, but other than that, I really like this saison.

Pours a hazy orange with a nice firm white head. Rye prominent in the aroma, along with a tripel like yeastiness. Rye definitely adds pepper to the malt backbone, a little sweet with honey and pear.

Tasted 8/20/10. 12oz bottle. Activated pour produces a hazy body with a bright orange golden hue. Ring and skim layer of off-white head. Aromas of candy citrus yeast and a grainy peppery note. Medium bodied with a rich mouthfeel and good palate. Sticky sweet malts and a decent peppery bitter flavor. Good dose of orange and mild tangy grapefruit. Good tingling effervescence. Nice and fruity with a dry peppery finish, pretty straight up.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 nqualls (1452) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 3, 2009
12 oz bottle from Frugal MacDoogal’s. Poured a slightly hazy gold color with a three finger white head that disappeared quickly. Aroma was similar to what I expected from a saison with a fruity/funky note, with spices (cloves) present too. Flavor was spicy and interesting. The rye added a peppery taste. Fruit was also present on the tongue. I was impressed with this brew. Linus and the gang keep churning out the good, inventive and different brews.
