3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted at the 2011 East Nashville Beer Festival. Pours dark, nearly black with a thin tan head that leaves very little lacing. The nose is dark and creamy milk chocolate with a very nice smoked ham/bacon aroma. The aroma is very nice, but the rye character gets lost. The flavor is much the same with tons of creamy chocolate, coffee, and the same smoked flavor from the nose. The body is full and creamy with a long smoked bacon and chocolate syrup finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
ENBF. Pours black with a brown head. Smoky aroma. Nice slick and chewy mouthfeel, medium bodied with soft carbonation. Flavor of dark unsweetened chocolate, wood, ash, and smoked pork. Interesting, but 6 ounces of this is all I would want.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Wonderful, fully thick sweet chocolate, roasted meat, and cured ham. Lots of Honey-baked brown sugar ham and bacon aroma, and flavor. This is very thick, and full bodied, quite remarkable, but too heavy for a full glass.
