COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, chocolaty English Porter with a clean finish. We use the finest floor-malted Maris Otter malts from England, the same malts used for the best single-malt scotch. A portion of malted rye gives a spicy, slightly dry finish. OG: 14.40 Plato FG: 3.8 Plato IBUs: 28 SRM: 29 5.7% abv

Pretty average beer. Mild caramel and coffee aroma. Rich red color with no real head. Definitely some rye flavors, but the expected coffee flavors are muted. Doesn’t feel as heavy as it should. Decent, but I won’t go out of my way to get it again.

Bottle thanks to SpringsLicker. Nose full of chocolate with some peppery notes. Crazy toastiness going on underneath. Pours a dark brown with off white head. Taste is initially sweet with sweet chocolate. Starts to show some pepper character with some nuttiness too. Finishes dry, kinda drops off, but very enjoyable. This is pretty tasty good.

Underwhelming considering the high praise. Lacks the roasted definition and real spicyness that I would’ve expected from this beer. Some chocolate and dark fruit, but its good, not great. Courtesy of Jay on his trip through Nashville.

Bottle. Deep, dark brown with a tan head. Dark chocolate taste and dark chocolate aroma. This is a really good Porter.

12oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head and spotty lacing. Aroma and taste of dark chocolate, pepper, rye, slightly smoky. Medium bodied, creamy texture, slight pepper finish. Very nice!

Deep brown, cream head. Nose is rye, roasted malts, chocolate, and grain. Easy palate, smooth rye, chocolate, malts, grainy, light roast, easy finish.

12 oz bottle poured into a frosted pint glass. Very little aroma that I could descern, but then they were smoking in the Hair of the Dog. Chocolate and malt flavours with an excellent mouth.

Poured from a bottle. Deep walnut with reddish hue. Aroma is roast and chocolate notes. Taste is slightly sweet balanced by bitter finish. Roast, coffee and chocolate. Body is medium to medium-light. Decent porter.

Tasted from 12 oz brown bottle into a nonic pint glass. Thanks gregwilsonstl! It poured a clear, dark reddish brown colour with short-lived head of beige foam. Toasty, tart, medium-roast coffee acidity, nice cherry and plum notes, some spiciness from rye and possibly warm-fermented ale yeast phenols. Light body, medium carbonation. Thinner mouthfeel and drier finish than many classic porters, but also crisper and more refreshing. Elevated alcohol too, but it was completely invisible. Like a tastier, more complex AmberBock. I liked it a lot and look forward to getting some more next time I pass through Nash-Vegas.

Unique color. Roasted. Rye is dominant. No head. Slick. Light body. Spicy. Coffee aftertaste. Thanks Erin.
