This beer smells nice and toasty, some cacao. Palate is thin and head is white, though the beer is decently dark. Flavor is nice with a slight roastiness, rye slickness, but overall kind of thinbut drinkable.

tap at flying saucer in Memphis. Deep brown witha small off-white fizzy head. lactic and nutty nose-old tap line or old keg? a bit of choclate in the nose as well(baking). flavors are sweet, husky and nutty. nothing really special here but definately pretty tasty chocolate based porter. long lactic and chocolate finish. simple and to the point.

Pours hazy brownish at DLD, thanks! Aroma has notes of rue spice, chocolate, some roast and coffee. Bitter roast and spice from rye component to a smooth slightly dry finish.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2011 Nitro tap at Yazoo Brewery in big-mouth pint glass. This is a very, very dark beer with no head to report. The odor and taste are both of chickory with alcohol and lively carbonation. That’s all there is to it.
