A rich, chocolaty English Porter with a clean finish. We use the finest floor-malted Maris Otter malts from England, the same malts used for the best single-malt scotch. A portion of malted rye gives a spicy, slightly dry finish. OG: 14.40 Plato FG: 3.8 Plato IBUs: 28 SRM: 29 5.7% abv

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2011 Nitro tap at Yazoo Brewery in big-mouth pint glass. This is a very, very dark beer with no head to report. The odor and taste are both of chickory with alcohol and lively carbonation. Thatís all there is to it.

Poured black with a tan head that has a thin layer lasting. Aroma of coffee and chocolate malts with a faint hint of rye as it warms. The flavor found toasted malts and chocolate. Full body with a malty aftertaste

12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown with a small faded tan head. Aroma and taste: mild roasted malts, chocolate, rye, fruity notes. Medium-ish body. Overall a solid Porter.

Bottle: Pours a mostly opaque dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing froth of beige head. Has a lightly sweet toasty dark caramel and milk chocolate nose with some rye bready notes and spruce character. Starts with good lightly sweet chewy dark maltiness and nice rye complex with an earthy hop bitterness toward a btitersweet dark chocolaty finish. An enjoyable and complex, yet quite drinkable porter.

Bottle. Pours nearly black with a thin beige head. Aroma is lots of dark chocolate, some coffee, bread, caramel, fruity esters. Flavor is more subtle: milk chocolate, spice, bread, caramel. Hops come on in the finish. Palate is creamy. Very enjoyable porter. The rye adds a nice touch.

This poured a black color with a moderate beige head, nice. The aroma contains a lot of milk chocolate, some coffee, and a hint of dark fruits. The flavor is pretty much the same. The finish is on the sweet side. Maybe a hint of rye flavor in the there. I was tasting something I couldnt put my finger on. Overall a nice porter.

From bottle. Iíve had this beer numerous times before. Surprised that Iíve never rated it. Pours dark brown with a decent enough head. The appropriate amount of carbonation. Nose is very typical porter with a bit of rye and in general malt. A little light but not thin. Good enough porter. I want just a little bit more here.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2010 On draught at Broadway Brewhouse in Nashville. This beer pours a dark brown color with a medium thin tan head that dissipates steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate malt and mildly spiced hops. Medium, dry body with flavors of bittersweet chocolate, malt and bready rye spices. The finish is chocolatey with a short malty aftertaste. Above average brew overall.

Picked up a half gallon of this stuff on my way through Murfreesboro, TN. Made it home, to my surprise it still had decent carbonation. Dark brown almost black pour. Aroma was some roasted malts, chocolate and some earthiness. Lots of roasty flavors up front, coffee like bitterness and some dark chocolate. Mouthfeel was somewhat creamy, super smooth. I am super glad I picked some up, a very fine Tennessee porter, one of the best I have tried.
