3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rye in evidence here, as it should be. If you want rye in your beer, then give it a try. If not, stay away. It’s common sense, really.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz bottle served at about 55F in a snifter
Flavor: Chocolate and sweet malts. Slighty sweet and sour for style
Finish is a mess of flavors, probably due in part to the rye.
Feel: full body with excellent, near-medium carbonation.
O: worth trying.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
It poured a black color with a small tan head. The aroma was of coffee and chocolate malts with a hint of rye as it warmed. The taste was of toasted malts and chocolate. Not bad.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tasted at Yazoo tap room. Smells like a Porter with the chocolate fragrance. Not the spicy Rye flavor I was expecting/hoping for but overall good and would order again.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice grainy nose with slight coffee. A complex taste of rich English grain and just a hint of the rye. I'd like to see the rye come thru more. Hops are understated but perfect for a Porter.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pretty average beer. Mild caramel and coffee aroma. Rich red color with no real head. Definitely some rye flavors, but the expected coffee flavors are muted. Doesn’t feel as heavy as it should. Decent, but I won’t go out of my way to get it again.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to SpringsLicker. Nose full of chocolate with some peppery notes. Crazy toastiness going on underneath. Pours a dark brown with off white head. Taste is initially sweet with sweet chocolate. Starts to show some pepper character with some nuttiness too. Finishes dry, kinda drops off, but very enjoyable. This is pretty tasty good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Underwhelming considering the high praise. Lacks the roasted definition and real spicyness that I would’ve expected from this beer. Some chocolate and dark fruit, but its good, not great. Courtesy of Jay on his trip through Nashville.
