COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed initially for export to USA.
A lmited amount of kegs were released in NZ as Motueka Warrior (as a part of the annual Motueka/Yakima collaboration with Liberty Brewing)

The beer was then brewed for NZ, Aus and Italy under the Digital IPA label. It will be available throughout the southern hemisphere summer of 2011.

NZ Bottle:
This limited-release India Pale Ale (IPA) is an aggressive wee beast that is dedicated to our friend Joseph Wood of Liberty Brewing and to all those hopheads who love drinking IPA day in, day out.
Just as the term digital is all about zeroes and ones, the concept of IPA is all about malts and hops. Enjoy the rich golden malt backbone of Digital while you can... then feel it closing in as the fruity Motueka-grown hops dominate your palate and don’t ever fade away.

IPA as it should be.

This ale is open source - you may not be able to download the beer itself but feel free to grab the recipe at www.yeastieboys.co.nz.

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2012 Re-tried on Tap: Really nice IPA. It has a great hoppy flavour, good mouthfeel, and a nice bitterness at the end. Easy to drink! Even better on tap.

Light golden-amber body. Moderate sized white head. Solid lacing. Citric, grassy, and floral hops dominate both the flavor and nose. Soft pale malts also make themselves known. Medium bodied. Perhaps a bit undercarbonated with a silky soft feel. Light bitterness in the finish. Solid, but unremarkable IPA.

Bottle at Den Tatovrede Enke. Awesome brewery name! Almost clear, light amber liquid with firm, medium off-white head with nice lacing. Aroma is perfumy and flowery with notes of citrus, mango, lemon grass, caramel and cereal. Taste is dry and medium bitter with notes of biscuity malt and flowery hops. Medium bodied with nicely soft carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Probably one of the best mouthfeels I’ve even experienced in an IPA. Nice, balanced IPA.

Bottle, bought @ Den Tatoverede Enke, Cph.
Pours light hazy yellow with a small, staying, frothy, white head. Aroma has resin, kiwi, grapefruit, light doughy malts. Medium carbonation, lovely dry and rather creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has doughy and light crisp malts, resin, light pine, a subdued note of ginger, grassy. Long, lingering, grassy and mild fruity bitterness. Nice.

Lovely, great fruity nose, note as much fruit on the palate, also less malty & ’fat’ than some of the NZ IPAs I love so much. Very drinkable and hides its’ alcohol content deceivingly well

Pours light pale yellow with a small white head. Nose is grapefruit and oranges, grass and bread dough. Taste is sweet for the most part but some decent hop bitterness mixes in around the finish and hangs around a bit. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean, medium body with a long aftertaste.

Bottle from Blue Dog. Pours clear deep gold with 3-finger white head that laces copiously. Nose is pale malt, hopcitrus, resiny, sappy, and fruity. Tastes malty, peppery and resiny, with mid-palate earthiness, lemongrass, and a finishing astringency. All around solid.
