Brewed initially for export to USA.
A lmited amount of kegs were released in NZ as Motueka Warrior (as a part of the annual Motueka/Yakima collaboration with Liberty Brewing)

The beer was then brewed for NZ, Aus and Italy under the Digital IPA label. It will be available throughout the southern hemisphere summer of 2011.

NZ Bottle:
This limited-release India Pale Ale (IPA) is an aggressive wee beast that is dedicated to our friend Joseph Wood of Liberty Brewing and to all those hopheads who love drinking IPA day in, day out.
Just as the term digital is all about zeroes and ones, the concept of IPA is all about malts and hops. Enjoy the rich golden malt backbone of Digital while you can... then feel it closing in as the fruity Motueka-grown hops dominate your palate and don’t ever fade away.

IPA as it should be.

This ale is open source - you may not be able to download the beer itself but feel free to grab the recipe at www.yeastieboys.co.nz.

Nice golden honey pour with a small eggshell head. Aroma of lemongrass, grapefruit pith, spicy black pepper, and hay. Earthy, dusty, grainy. Didn’t really find this that interesting. Missing the punch, not pungent in the least...fairly average.

Bottle. Hazy yellow-orange pour with a monster pure white head. Awesome aroma of citrus and pine hops. Huge carbonation. Taste is solid but the aroma is better. Good brew.

Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a light golden with a large white head. Lots of carbonation. Nose has melon, pine and citrus fruit. A caramel malt backing comes through in the taste along with a sharp bitterness. Huge carbonation distorts the balance a bit for me. Could be way better but solid brew ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy pale amber with soft carbonation. Melon and custard creams in nose becoming pineapple cheesecake on warming. Think that’s the yeastie boys yeast coming through as I got similar flavours in pot kettle black too. with plenty of Motueka flavour and perhaps a touch of NS grapeiness. Sweet with medium body, finishes fairly bitter.
