Brewed initially for export to USA.
A lmited amount of kegs were released in NZ as Motueka Warrior (as a part of the annual Motueka/Yakima collaboration with Liberty Brewing)

The beer was then brewed for NZ, Aus and Italy under the Digital IPA label. It will be available throughout the southern hemisphere summer of 2011.

NZ Bottle:
This limited-release India Pale Ale (IPA) is an aggressive wee beast that is dedicated to our friend Joseph Wood of Liberty Brewing and to all those hopheads who love drinking IPA day in, day out.
Just as the term digital is all about zeroes and ones, the concept of IPA is all about malts and hops. Enjoy the rich golden malt backbone of Digital while you can... then feel it closing in as the fruity Motueka-grown hops dominate your palate and donít ever fade away.

IPA as it should be.

This ale is open source - you may not be able to download the beer itself but feel free to grab the recipe at www.yeastieboys.co.nz.

massive citrus all over this. very sweet citrus, probably grapefruit. not so bitter for an ipa, which is a good thing here, balances it right up. delicious, and on tap too.

The only problem is that I can only find this in 330ml bottles and itís so delicious with its citrus aroma and taste that itís gone before it has a chance to really open up. Next time I think Iíll decant two bottles into a jug. Or three.

Interesting IPA. Has hops, bitterness, malty backbone, yada yada, but it's the unexpected sweetness that is intriguing. The sweetness is present throughout -- from beginning to end. At first it's the only note, then subsides to the bitterness, and finally reasserts its dominance at the end. A very unique IPA -- can't say I have had anything like it before. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy orange with white head. Aroma of orange rind and a very little sweet grapefruit. Taste is malt, orange rind and lemon zest.

Uploading old reviews that were missing comments. Standout trait was the citrusy hop profile in taste and nose. Malt profile not as big as advertised. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3 mar 2013, bottle. Light orange, faintly cloudy, steady bubbles. Nose is cotton candy, stale orange slices, some lemon rind. Med/thin body and moderately fizzy. Bitter orange rind and straw malt. Okay ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours deep amber into a snifter. Off-white head recedes to hug rim. Sweet caramel upfront turning to mild resin in the lasting finish.

Black label, 11.2 ounce bottle to tulip. Beautiful apricot orange color in the glass with a short live foamy eggshell head. Low levels of lacing but some of the head does stick to the glass. Citrus and Earthy hop aroma. Taste is maltier than I was expecting. Sweet malt flavor reminiscent of honey and grain fills the mouth first and then is balanced a bit by the familiar New Zealand hop flavors. I donít think this is the freshest bottle which may explain why Iím not getting the higher levels of hop bitterness I was expecting. Medium body and a pretty clean finish.

Hazy amber beer with a tidy white head. Softish palate. Creamy pale malt. Hops are slightly minty with light tropical fruits. Softish semi dry finish. A little linering mint. Nice - would really like to try this super fresh.
