rather surprised by how good this was, never have expected much from the genre ’golden ale’ but this had plenty of orange citrus to provide interest and to back up the good malt base. pretty good.

Restrained grassy aroma in clear light golden fluid. Light clean taste is mildly hop forward with a smooth sustained finish. A nice beer - especially for its strength.

Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Hazy gold. Barely a head. Some stewed fruit to this, which I didn’t expect. Some tea, too. Not much else really. Drinks thin, with a light fruit bitterness. Soft carbonation. Finishes bitter, with some tannic tartness. A bit odd. Not for me, whatever it is.

Keg at CASK. It pours clear golden with a small white head. The nose is sweet, doughy, straw, juicy, pineapple, apricot and apple. The taste is crisp, bitter, grassy, straw, breadth malts, lemon rind and pepper with a pretty dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not a game changer, but a solid hoppy pale anyhow.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique November 2013. A refreshing easy to drink golden ale that is not too challenging. Good session beer that you could easily drink a few of.

Clear, light amber. Sweet and full aroma, surprising for this low ABV. Body was not so full, stronger yeast character, nice dried apple flavour. Good session beer.

Bottle. Pours a gold colour with a thin white head, plenty of citrus in the aroma, taste is sweet and with a very dry finish.

From 330 ml bottle. Pours a clear gold with a thin but lasting white head and moderate carbonation. Aromas of malt, caramel, pineapple, cut grass and lemon. Taste is light fruit (fresh pear) up front before a rounded malty note overlaid with some cut grass and pepper. Clean finish with a light fruity aftertaste. Good example of the style I think.

From a 330ml bottle on 26/7/2014. Pours a clear deep olden with a small white head. Has a light grassy, fruity yeasty aroma. Take a sip and you get a light fruity sweetness, some bready malt, followed by a quite firm, spicy, lingering hop bitterness. Has a medium body and lively carbonation. Very flavoursome for 4.4%. A pretty good, quite assertive little beer.

bottle - pouts hazy gold with a small head. Pineapple, peach and elderflower aroma. Taste just doesnt happen for me, very bland up front before a hoppy dry finish, which is quite short lived. Palate is also a bit on the watery side. Bottle is slightly past its BB date could be it?
