rather surprised by how good this was, never have expected much from the genre ígolden aleí but this had plenty of orange citrus to provide interest and to back up the good malt base. pretty good.

In the past Iíve been guilty of passing of golden ale as a boring flavorless style for the masses to drink while watching the footy. This beer has changed my perceptions. It manages to be simultaneously quaffable and complex. Thereís a delicious fruitiness, some toffee caramel, and a surprisingly sharp intense citrus bitterness towards the end. Itís not like an IPA bitterness though, itís more subtle that. Itís tingly on the palate too. Extremely enjoyable.

330ml bottle. A superior Summery Golden Ale with nice balance of cereal malts and tropical fruity hops on the nose and tongue. Slick easy drinking with light-medium body. Pours clear bright gold with average white head.

Excellent beer. Lovely light delicate flavours with an exquisite balance and body. Really worth a try especially for a summer quaffer.

Bottle. Gold with a small white head. Aroma of butterscotch, oranges, peach, some tropical fruit - passionfruit, rambutans. Low carbonation. Tastes as it smells with moderate sweetness and balancing bitterness. Reminds me a lot of Holgateís Mt Macedon.

So often the term Golden Ale or Blone Ale is a euphemism for light, innocuous, almost bland beer that might as well be lager. Designed for quaffing without leaving too much of an impression on the palate. Yet, Yeastie Boys are not known for brewing innocuous beers. They are brewers of intrigue and I have every expectation that this beer will do their reputation justice. For a star, itís a good looker. Rosy golden in colour with a semi-permanent covering of dense white head and plenty of sparkle. The aroma is singularly impressive: grapefruit peel, golden caramel, guava, dehydrated papaya and that sort of stuff.
A taste reveals intense passionfruit. Itís just there in spadefuls amid tangy citrus bitter and pillowy mouthfuls of carbonation. Itís a rewarding beer with a long finish and has session written all over it. Enormously enjoyable.
Well done chaps, youíve made me proud.

Very little aroma. First taste was bland and watery with a bitter fizz. After a couple more sips the flavours came on, very orange peel then tending toward marmalade, but in a light, refreshing way. Very sessionable.

I wasnít expecting such a bitter note to a low IBU beer, but that makes this a nice surprise. It doesnít have a long palate and ends a bit thin, But this is gold as a session beer and worth hunting down.

From a 330ml bottle, finally hitting the stores. This is a delight. A sessionable ale thatís packed full of flavour. Bright fresh hops, bergomot orange on the nose, in the mouth itís an explosion of fresh passionfruit and bitter orange flavours. Fades to a warm soft tail. Delicious. It is a bit thin, but really, that just makes it more sessionable.
