3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black pour with an over-carbonated, rocky light tan head. Thick lacing. the aroma is very porter-like. Mostly roasted malt, with some crystal in there as well. Unnoticeable yeast, and might have a touch of earthy hops. I assume this has been sitting for a while. Flavor is similar, and well balanced. Nice palate, too. Will try to re-rate a fresher one.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(Bottle) Opaque black with thin tan head. Fantastic and unusual aroma combining fresh fruity hop notes with richer notes of caramel, chocolate and almost smokiness. Medium body with nice carbonation giving velvety feel. Great and unusual flavour showing again a mix of styles which works pretty well. The start is rich dark roast malts with dark chocolate notes and this gives way to the thinner somewhat sharper flavours of a porter, out of which develops a refreshing hoppy bitterness which combines with dark roast malt bitter coffee notes for a long pleasant finish. An unusual beer that works very well.

Piu che una Black IPA, è più una Porter molto luppolata, domanino le note tostate del malto che donano liquirizia, caffè amaro, bruciato e terroso con un finale luppolato, resinoso e floreale...

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at home from supermarket, Wellington 6/1/13
Ruby tinged mahogany with lacing of latte head. Fruity coffee on the nose with medium carbonation, resinous hoppiness soon replaced by dry dusty cocoa and bourbon biscuits. More hoppy porter than BIPA but still a good beer.
