A juxtaposition of styles: fresh and hoppy, yet dark and rich. Mindbendingly delicious. NZ & rest of the world brewed at Invercargill Brewery. UK & Europe brewed at Brewdog, Aberdeenshire.

From bottle. Poured with big long lasting head; tastes of hops up front then a nice porter roastiness. A very interesting and drinkable beer. Maybe just a shade too roasty

Bottle at home. Very dark brown, brown creamy head with nice stability. Hoppy and roasted malty nose and taste, some blackcurrant/berry fruitiness, earthy, bitter finish. As it warms, it gets more rounded, some vanilla, bitterness in the finish diminishes, mouthfeel gets even more soft. Silky mouthfeel, light-medium body, low-medium carbonation.

Brewed at Brewdog, 33cl bottle at home from Biernavigatie.nl. Body is pitch black, head is very big, beige, creamy rocky, fully lasting, good lacing. Nose is cocoa, flavor is chocolate, mild coffee, truffle, toast. Medium sweet, medium to heavy roasty bitter. Finish is medium lasting roasty medium bittersweet. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Tasty dessert beer, great one.

Bottle, brewed @ Brewdog. Almost black. Roast and bacon in the aroma. Malty sweet, roasty flavor with licorice. Fruit sweeties. Medium to full bodied. Quite pleasant.

Bottled at cafe De Rat. Opaque black appearance, small head. Complex nose, roasted malts, licorice, vanilla, lactic acid. Sweet roasted malty flavor, lactic acid more pronounced, licorice and vanilla, bittersweet in finish. Velvety mouthfeel. Fantastic brew, I liked it so much i had a few in a row.

Thnx to Anna and Adam. Pours black, not much head. Smell is full, weird, some dark malts, earhty, in an un-common way, leaves. Taste is mild, faded bitter, thin, green leaves, aromatic, some spices. OK carbo.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque dark brown color, average sized beige to light brown head. Smell and taste malts, a bit weird, some sort of weird vanilla flavor or something. Donít know what it is but I donít like it. Lactose? Canít put my finger on it, but itís weird. Silky mouthfeel.

Bottle @ benzai. Black colour with a small light brown head. Smells hoppy, roasty, sweet, vanilla. Tastes roasty, vanilla, something weird, slightly lavender or something? Medium body, soft carbo.

Bottle @ derat, large sample. Dark color, medium frothy head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, coffee, some piney hops. Creamy texture. Roasty bitterness in taste, but also quite hoppy like a hoppy porter without going towards a black ipa. Good beer.

One-third pint, keg at Beer Rebellion, Gipsy Hill. Filmy tan-coloured head, good lacing. Jet black body. Creamy malts and liquorice nose. Roasted dark malty flavours including moments of chocolate and liquorice. Dark fruit to a firm bitter finish. Fine bodied. Pleasant (London, 28.11.2015).
